Because it's a tenth of the price and you don't need a pipe trailing out of the window?

Can you check this?

Your thumbnail has 6 segment 'screen', but the CPC piccie is 10!

I was going to say we have it and it's brilliant, But that applies to the 6 segment. Can't speak for the 10.

Yeah, if I'm going to get air con I'm going to do it properly and get a split unit installed so I'm not burning power. 1:1 cooling power to input power ratio on portable units vs 3:1 on splits which makes a huge difference when we're talking about a kilowatt of power consumption.

Until then though, fans and a spray bottle to dampen my clothing.
Bought this a few weeks ago and it was soo bad. Returned it and others did too. Don’t waste your time or money.

Quite agree. I sent back too and so noisy that you can't leave on when you go sleep. Made in China,, say no more.
We got one if these and last night it broke.
They are very noisy, so if you want to use it at night time use ear plugs
Stupid people, yes it blows hot air around....... guess what.... it cools YOU by evaporating sweat off your body.....it cools YOU by evaporating sweat off your body.....it cools YOU by evaporating sweat off your body.....it cools YOU by evaporating sweat off your body..... Get the message !

Brilliant, fans like this are a false economy, they do nothing worthwhile, like buying newspaper in place of carpet
and if you’re trailing pipes out of windows you’re setting them up completely wrong and won’t get the best benefits

and unless you’re sitting in the nude it won’t be evaporating nothing off your body, completely useless

They meant trailing the heat vent tube of a portable A/C unit out of the window, this is the correct way to use those types of units
Has anyone ordered one of these? I bought a tower fan from Screwfix and it had a noisy mechanical timer so it went back. I guess the timer in this is digital? How's the general running noise?

Not it,s not, you need a window adopter so there is a seal around the exhaust pipe, just throwing it out an open window is never going to get you close to maximum efficiency, your information is what a clueless person would do
