Acer redefines mobile connectivity with Aspire ONE, the revolutionary netbook packed with fun and powerful computing features in a diminutive 8.9" form factor.

From the moment you switch it on, the Aspire ONE is ready to go in just a few seconds. That's what Acer calls a smart start. Once on, the interface is pure simplicity: a home screen divided into four areas that contain all the applications you need to stay connected, work, play, and organize your life on the road. And as your Aspire ONE is as unique as the way you use it, you can customize the applications on the home screen so that it's just right for you. Fast, simple and indescribably chic. That's your new life with the Aspire ONE.

Look at the advert it says RRP of £244.36, so it ll be the RRP £244.36 - £45, which is more or less today's price of £198...?

Maths Fail?

Gonna get chilly

Why would it be a special discount price then on 29th. ?

I think the price of £199 is the discounted price as it says usualy price £244

Agreed.

They aint gunna reduce this to this price - seems pretty clear from the advert.

Hope they do, but doubt it.

How can they do that?

...unless they started the promotion 2 days early

From the way its worded then no, but from the way its set up they may, I dont think it should of been expired,

DABS have obviously made a mistake and reduced the price of the laptop 2 days early, as if you take a look at the other promotions they are still at the RRP

Rachrsturbo;6139527

, I dont think it should of been expired,

Can soon be unexpired on Saturday if it gets cheaper

I`m just curious. What do you mean when u say it runs XP slow? U mean like if it doesnt boot Xp in 1 minute flat?? That doesnt constitute running Xp slow IMO.

Ive had Xp and now Win 7 Ultimate on mines with the 1 gig of RAM. Both booted in less than 2 minutes. And I had no probs/hang ups running software packages like Office and GIMP, as well as multiple browser windows being open along with them.

+1

I'm running Windows 7 RC on mine and has always felt responsive, even with multiple browsers and other apps running at the same time. If this can be got for the price the OP is indicating then should be HOT.

I want to get something like this for my miss, is this the best 160g one available ?

Can the ram be upgraded easy? I've seen some Acer net books need to be ripped apart to upgrade your ram, which im guessing would void the warranty.

Do any of these netbooks have 802.11n?

Also, it says it has 3g... does this mean you can take your 3g mobile phone chip stick it inside it and browse the net from your sim ?

Are the batteries any good?? Which acer net book has a good battery?
