The prices of DDR2 seem to only rise, this is a really nice surprise.

Been thinking about doubling the memory in my PC & at this price I think the decision has been made for me.

Thanks OP (_;)

Just noticed that it is showing as 'stock on order'

I know.. they are mass producing DDR3's now so they'll have better prices at the moment like one posted earlier (2gb DDR3 for £14.99). maybe you'll get double money for those ddr2 when it comes to upgrading DDR3

Anyone know what the CAS Latency of these is, I'm assuming it will be 6?

I wouldn't buy Simmtronics - too many problems with it in the past. Their 'lifetime warranty' is also pretty much worthless since they only accept returns to their RMA Centre in Singapore and it has to be sent by 'international signed-for delivery' - not a cheap option....

if it doesnt work then you buy it you can just send to 7dayshop for refund or exchange.

i bought two sitcks + received last week.
one stick i get 4 beeps when i power on the PC
The other stick boots and i get blue screens.
same spec as ram i have be using.
Dodgy ram? Or do the timings need to be set in the bios. or bios upgraded?

There's a good reason these are so cheap...
They're utter crap.

That's fine if it's DOA, not if it fails within the 'lifetime warranty'.
It's a manufacturers warranty, after 14 days 7dayshop can wash their hands of it, which I bet they do on a frequent basis with these DIMM's.

It should work on your system. if it only supports pc5300 then the rams should clock down to pc 5300 speed

I've used 7dayshop before for an item that was Stock on Order and although it took a couple of weeks it was shipped immediately! (it was an 8GB Compact Flash)

I also had a MicroSD card I bought from them die on me and they were superb with sorting out a replacement.

"All items are supplied with a 12 month warranty as standard (unless otherwise stated). Should you require assistance with your item after 12 months we ask that you contact the manufacturer for return details"

thanks,

My son has an Acer M3201 with 2 x 1Gb sticks of this spec inside.
It's a 32bit system so I don't see the point in buying 2 of these 2Gb sticks as I'll only use about 3.5Gb out of 4Gb.
I was thinking of just buying one and sticking it in alongside the other two x 1Gb sticks as I'll just end up with 3.5Gb in use anyway via this route.
What are the potential downsides to doing this as they are obviously not matching pairs?
Will the system still recognize both sizes? Will the speed of the combined ram suffer greatly over 2 x 2Gb matching sticks?

Thanks for any info.

@anglo, there is a patch for windows kernel that allows 4GB and more to be used with the 32bit ver. It has versions for Vista and Windows7.

Thanks kicko, I'll try and find it.
Lots of info about the patch found via google. Thanks again.
I'd still like an answer to "the potential downsides" in my post above, if anyone can help.

I need to re-sort my partitions as steam is killing my primary drive so next time I'll install the 64bit version as I'll have 8GB installed

got my 2 x 2GB ram & working fine. got windows 7 score of 7.1 for memory X)

shame I only got 5.5 for graphics coz I cant put any graphics card in my present case. But thats allt to change next week when I get my casecom case from e-buyer. then I'm thinking of a 5770 or a gtx 275

what would you say is the both option as I'm getting from CEX & both are similar price?

sent mine back
2 sticks both failed memory tests, dont bother with these

good price, just ordered to update my pc from 2gb to 4gb.
but they have to work at pc5300 instead of pc6400.
