The logos are covered with a sticker and brand names on rear covered with a sharpie. They're covering up Morrisons. Not sure why they'd cover up the logo? Makes me slightly concerned the contents might not meet the specs stated on the bottle?

They had 2 other grades I think. One described as fully synthetic which was probably 5w 40, and another mineral which I think was 15w 40.

Found in Blackwood, South Wales. Based on previous Home Bargains deals I assume this is nationwide.

Edit: it's 5w30 synthetic.

If it's a supermarket brand it's probably made by a known oil name. Tesco …If it's a supermarket brand it's probably made by a known oil name. Tesco oil used be made by Castrol for example, came from the same factory.

I'm not saying you're wrong but when I was working in the industry, Castrol NEVER blended supermarket oils.

In the UK, most supermarket-branded oils are blended by Morris Lubricants based as Shrewsbury, probably the largest independent oil blender that no one's ever heard of! Spec-for-spec, their oils are every bit as good as those from the big boys. (edited)

I wouldn't be concerned, the supplier to Morrisons has sold to HB, part of the agreement is to sell as Non Brand, HB has to cover/delete the Morrisons logo/branding (as you say your more confident if its says Morrisons, HB can't use that confidence factor for its gain, if that makes sense)

Changing your oil on a regular basis should mean you don't need to flush. I struggle to do 7k a year and most of that is 5th gear at 65-70mph and I keep my oil when I drain it for my nephew. It's good enough for his 15yr old runabout. But I've never flushed if I've not done the milage to warrant it.

I've just seen a (single) bottle 10w 40 in Morrisons (New Brighton) on the reduced shelf...Maybe they're discontinued?

(Should've checked the home bargains next door for 5w 40!)
