2l Westons Scrumpy Cloudy Cider £3.99 at Lidl.

Be aware this is not 'Old Rosie' but another Cloudy Scrumpy by Westons which I have not personally had before. I could not find it mentioned online but it does appear in the latest pamphlet dropped through my door yesterday.

Slowly fermented and matured in oak vats to give a straight-from-the-vat full and fruity flavour. 7.5% strength.

As Westons normally do bottles in 500ml sizes this 2 litre offer works out at approx £1 a bottle.

I went in today to get some milk and noticed that they have them in stock and for sale already. Enjoy!

£2.00 a litre for cider!
What absolute robbery.
Cold.
Should be 50p a gallon for such tripe.

there's always one idiot(above)..hot from me

Mmmmm sounds nice. May give this a whirl :-)

pretty good. didnt realise how strong it was when first tasting it. to me this is real cider. dont judge till you have tasted it

Lovely stuff - this is sipping cider, not fizzy orange pop cider!

No need to refer to yourself as an idiot.
Although if the cap fits.

The guy above me is a tool. Similar to wet toilet roll but less useful.

Good deal op!

Wonder if they'll do this in Newcastle shops ?
Quite fancy a bit of cloudy cider

if any other alcoholic beverage was bottled and served still cloudy it would be dregs, what makes this stuff the exception?

heat added but i wouldnt go specially cos its only a little bit more at £4.50 in asda

Tramps have more pressing matters in life than to be worried if their cider looks a little cloudy.

Proper, proper cider down ere in Zummerzet........ try this from Mudgley farm.

I warn you now, it will make all the rivets fall outta your face.

Very hot, great price for decent quality cider

Love old Rosie, I imagine this stuff to be good as well.

If you compare this to 50p a litre cider you are simply a moron. Thankfully this thread has only attracted the one.

hmm, *notes the price of Stella Cidre and the like.....

At least this is proper cider not some crappy gummy stuff with sugar and sweeteners added for 'flavour', and to be honest, for 2 litres of scrumpy £3.99 is an absolute bargain.

I bought some of this yesterday.and.i like to think I offer an informed opinion.through years of drinking.......personally it is very disappointing.....for people who think real cider..is great well....this has no taste..!!!..very non discript..also....i wouLd also question the 7.5...per cent..as i did not feel any effects....at all..!!....i would personally stck to ...LIDL..WOODGATE..own cider £2.49 for four and value for money ...but...everyone has their opinion...as i have said...just...disappointing..!! and not worth the £3.99...

I've had similar stuff out of boxes (it was 6% though) and it was unbelievably good, extremely refreshing and a bit like a an alcoholic version of copella cloudy apple juice as you can really taste the apples.

Is that Woodgate stuff the stuff in 2litre bottles? No disrespect but I would struggle to even call that cider.

this is OK cider nothing more nothing less. Not as much flavour as some other scrumpys but good for getting drunk on. I used to drink it frequently. any scrumpy is better compared to the fizzy clear sweetened rubbish people are used to. This is just bog standard scrumpy.

hey..Momkey...if you think it sounds good buy some...taste it.and comment on that cider not sommat .similar. !!..seriously though.. this is not refreshing..but ..i would be interested to hear what other people think..who have tried it.....Ive had 2 pints now...still no effects and no real cider taste.infact very flat..but thats my opinion......(reaches for bottle again.....)

ooops !! Monkey....apologies...

With the amount of full stops in this (^^^) post I can indeed vouch for this persons informed opinion through years of drinking.

I presume you've never come across wheat beer?

Last summer we would down this before a night out.

It tastes like weak dirty water, but it will get you drunk.

Not far off the price of milk these days, might start putting this on my cereal in the morning, kick start to the day!

Good price for very good Scrumpy had it before roll on happy brain death

Why would anyone want to get drunk? I drink to enjoy the flavour and taste. As soon as it has any 'effect' on me, I stop drinking.
I really cannot understand the binge-drinking mentality. You only get one liver.

Yep this is the modern day tramps tipple.

Why would anyone want to do something I don't find enjoyable!

People enjoy different things, some like getting drunk some don't. I have had many nights out that would never have been as enjoyable or memorable if everyone had been sober, but I also have had nights out that wouldn't of been a complete train-wreck if everyone had been sober.

Your liver is also one of the few organs able to repair itself within reason.
