Cold from me, their are cheaper ways of doing this with only a slight increase in fire/electric shock risk.

Great deal, thanks pennyf

Looks good. Ordered

Already have one, just got another. Hot!

Was trying to get one of these for under a tenner, TY OP.

CPC are the best for these

Thanks ordered one

I bought a number of these about a year ago. All in use and have worked with no major issue to date. The only thing I would point out is that the switches are not the most robust and one of them is very difficult to switch off/on. I would take that at this price.

Rubbish - Don't waste your money. Most of the switches on mine failed with minimum use.

I bought one of these a few years ago and find the switches to be quite poor quality and some of them hard to turn on and off.
Not sure if these are the same build quality as mine but thought I'd share.

I never have tbh, ive only seen something blow a few times, one a mates pc and others at old job!!

I've bought those about a year ago. Everything still works, although the switches get harder to switch with time (none has failed so far).

If you buy 3 you can get them for £7.15 each through this link

It’s never too late..

I have one of these the only problem is if you are using power adapters (instead of mains plugs) you will find that it will block the opposite socket outlet.

Just bought a 6 gang for more than this

PC, phone, iPad, monitor, speakers, fan, 3ds, laptop. Only thing i'm worried about is the computer, but psu is good and so is the mobo

I have more than 8 sets of lights in my front room at Xmas

I guess my point wasn't clear. Many home items seem to have a transformer of some sort on them.
They don't tend to fit onto thius type of extension. Christmas lights is a very good example.

Quite, I bought one too, the switches are hard, spark and difficult to use when there are transformers plugs instead of simple 3-pin plugs. So I posted one with top quality switches and the deal went cold to minus 100 which was a bargain price at £14. You can find this around searching, they are distinctive as they have soft green neon light per switch below each rocker switch, the switches are silky smooth. After using these for 3 years, and I have four of them, no neon light ever failed. They are branded by various name, one of which is "Red/Grey".
This was the deal that I posted

An example of the abobe when branded as "Red/Grey" is this 4 way switching socket extension and there is a 6 way version too.

Exactly, you are right, see my comment immediately above, you need one of this long ones to fit the transformer heads with integrated plugs as the output cable coming out a transformer can be in any of the 3 axis directions.

The OP's type of two banks facing each other means output cables may get in the way, can also result in stress to the output cable at the transformer end or resulting in unusable sockets.

I have since stopped buying any more of this type since I bought this one from CPC earlier and only buy the long linear ones with all sockets in a single line.

Another excellent one to use is this type of German Brennenstuhl switched lead in various combination of 5,6, 8 ways and different number of switches but costs upwards from £20:-

I don't have time to search around , so I located this on eBAY quickly for £16 which is an honest fair price as it includes delivery ebay.co.uk/itm…2cI

But you can google yourself : red/grey 6 way extension lead individually switched or words to this effect
you can always recognise this top quality type by three distinctive characteristics as it is manufactured by a single producer but sold under different names:-

1. The clamshell thick polypropyline packaging as you can see in the photo.
2. The arrangement of the 3 pin, switch and its neon light (as shown above in my comments).
3. The neon light is green (if described)

Laptop, second screen, printer, phone charger, floor lamp, label printer, iPad charger..

Does anyone know where I can get something like this (4-6) gang ideal, but with 1 or 2 USB ports also?

I'm looking for a switched extension lead that doesn't have neon light indicators at a good price. Just searched for an hour online and couldn't find anything, they all have those neon lights... If anyone knows a deal for a 4/6/8 gang switched lead with no neon lights, let me know thanks
