We’re cutting another 2p off the price of petrol and diesel – leading the way in reducing the cost of fuel for the third time in three weeks.

From TOMORROW you’ll pay no more than 134.7p for a litre of unleaded and 139.7p per litre of diesel at any of the 196 Asda filling stations.

Were getting there slowly!!
Here we go again. Hardly going to save anyone a fortune.
Still can't believe the last post reached 1400+ for saving less than £2 on a full tank of very expensive petrol.
Good on Asda, hopefully the rest will follow suit. In before the "it should be well below this price so this isn't a deal" posts
Its been that price since Sunday in Bishop Auckland, hope they drop it by another 2p from tomorow

Lol almost made it.
It's all very welcome, but then the Government slaps on the 3p a litre increase in August and we're back to square one.
As a bargain hunter though, I'll hang on 'till Friday for my next fill up

well not really! they are dropping the price due to falls in the cost of oil and pressure from the media and consumers to reflect this in their prices, in short they really didn't have a choice.
and waste a fiver of fuel waiting in line for 20 mins

Any reduction is welcome, its been going up far too quickly, at least they are not doing the "Spend £50" gig.
I hope Tesco follows suit and drops its prices instead of running the stupid promotions linked with big instore spends...I'm a moneysaver, my weekly shop is only £25!
Thanks Andy Peake, Asda's director of petrol trading every little helps.
If the savings trend continues fuel may be affordable this time next year.
Thats brill news, getting there slowly

Bore off.
WWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO X)
I hate this being a deal when Petrol shouldn't be this high anyway but in all fairness it usually is ASDA that drops the price at the pumps where as Tesco tend to want you to shop before you get anything off..

And this is why I refuse to shop in Tesco anymore!

Alternatively, reach for the car key and turn the ignition off. Do you also have the handbrake off and foot on the brake pedal for said 20 minutes?
This is the most exciting news since Katy Perry unfollowed Russell Brand on Twitter.
Nice one
Still not sure why there is 5p between petrol and diesel. There's that gap in winter as diesel production is hampered by producing fuel oil for heating, but as of March/April, the gap is supposed to close back down to 2 or 3p - not this year though by the looks of things. Due to the drop in oil prices, this drop in prices should've happened 6 weeks ago. The government should do more to enforce the benefit of wholesale price drops affecting supply prices of petrol/diesel quickly - the prices go up within days of a rise in the price of crude. Lots of Asdas near me, including 2 huge ones, but they don't have petrol stations attached.

You'd need to wait long than 20 mins to waste a fiver in fuel.

Maybe you should stop moaning about 2p savings and look at a more economical car.

I don't understand why people are moaning about prices coming down? It's a start, things are starting to look promising. And people saying it's just because Asda are doing it due to the pressure from the media etc - I still praise Asda for taking the lead in these petrol cuts over the other supermarkets.

and what happens when i have to move,... use your brain before making comments like that ... if you use your brain, you would realise how much fuel is used up turning your ignition on and off every time you have to move

Do you drive a Hummer? My car uses a fifth of a gallon an hour when it's ticking over.
It would be better if Chavsda had enough filling stations, but there are none nearby so I'd waste more than I saved going there in the first place......

2p/litre makes very little difference overall and is not going to make anyone rich. This will save the average person around £25/year - Yay!......................................

i see you got your calculator out and re-edited LOLLLLLLL
I like.....This deal

I still have diesel receipts from 2009 when it was £1.03 per liter... to hike up this much maybe mp's should take a cut in pay and not get an allowance for there SECOND home' s and then they could afford not to charge us (the public aka lower people) so much tax on fuel. #rant over lol.
That's great!
Julius

Thanks!!
Good times, well played ASDA.

I originally included the 2p drop from last week too. Maybe you should get a calculator out or fix your fuel leak.
