2TB Humax HD PVR with Freesat+ Freetime - Refurbished - £199 from Humax

Just in the process of ditching Virgin since I barely watch it and thought I'd get this since I can't live without being able to pause and record the few shows I do watch.

Always used to run out space on my 500GB Tivo and there's not many boxes with 2GB as standard and none at this price! Worth a look if you're thinking of ditching Sky or Virgin.

Refurbished but you get a years warranty and I got a brand new remote control included with mine.

It's all about how you connect to the outside world really. They pretty much all have the same internal guts and functionality but for freeview you use an old fashioned type ariel whereas with freesat you connect to a satellite dish (an old sky one will do)

I'm no expert but hope that helps.
I got one of the earlier versions and I am delighted with it. Superb picture quality. Miles ahead of the Sky Box.
i paid 99 for my 500gb two months ago and since you can buy 2tb drives now for 50 this is hardly a good deal.

With free view a standard aerial is needed.

With freesat you need a satellite dish (Ie previously had sky or had your own dish fitted).

+1 for humax youview freeview dvr

Paid £90 for mine off eBay with 3 year warranty
Brilliant freesat box. Had mine three years now. Still works like new.
Had my Humax Freesat box for what must be over 5 years now. I would like to upgrade but am waiting for the code that knocked 10% to re appear. Also when I had sky, the box consumed around 30 watts in standby, the humax takes less than one watt. Not sure if the sky boxes are any better now but 30 watts 24/7 adds up

just ditched sky and hooked up the 500gb, straight swap and no complaints. These also have an app for netflix built in which was a bonus. for non techies, 2tb is a good option, for best value, by the 500gb and upgrade yourself.
Can you use an external hdd on these?
