You're looking at the wrong drive -- there is a Samsung 2TB drive at the top of the page (2 x 1TB Samsung HD103SJ Spinpoint F3, SATA 3Gb/s, 7200rpm, 32MB Cache, 8.9 ms, NCQ, OEM)

However, the one on offer here is the:

2TB Samsung HD203WI Spinpoint F3EG, EcoGreen, SATA 3Gb/s, 32MB Cache, 8.9 ms, NCQ, OEM

(do a Control-F search on the Scan page, or scroll down to below half way)

It's
£72.99 (before VAT)
£85.76 (inc VAT)

VAT isn't though...

£72.99 x 1.175 = £85.76

It's really not that tough. FFS, the guy's not even smart enough to find the right drive before flaming it as BS.

Ordered one yesterday, £88.36 INC VAT delivered, through AV Forums. Just had tracking number emailed to me

Looking at the deal it says 2x1tb, not 2tb.
First time Ive ever seen a 2tb shown that way.
Normally means two seperate drives.
If you wish to take the risk, it's your money.
So it's half way down ?
Wonder how many will click on the top one, though ?
Strange. Went down the list and theres a 1.5 but no 2.0
Back to the 2 x 1tg then.
Right, right. No picture, just in the list.
Tough finding it, though !

Fair point I was looking at the wrong drive !

Although it could have been made a bit clearer in the OP that it wasn't the one at the top which has a very similiar code HD103SJ versus HD203WI, and HD103SJ is actually 2 x 1TB drives rather than one !

Doh !

Must learn to read properly sometime.

How is it a similar code? The only similar part of it is HD.

Hot deal!

The link said 2tb. There is a 2x1tb with pic at top.
It could and should have been a good deal clearer.

Does anyone know if this drive could be put into a sky HD box?

Depends on the box. I think Amstrad ones are OK. But most are limited to 1 TB via the firmware!:x

it was literally only about 3 or 4 weeks ago that i got the same/similar samsun 2tb drive from scan for £94 (albeit with some anti virus software i'd never use), and it's just dropped by £2 or £3 each week. usually this is a sign of that price becoming fairly standard with ebuyer etc following in price. £85 for 2tb is pretty damn cheap. it's making me consider getting a second one and using that for backup instead of umpteen smaller sized drives, ie. 320+300+300+500+250+80+160 IDE drives

oh, and no-one has asked yet if this will fit in a ps3, so i have to ask the question?

I want one! but im not sure what this avforums free delivery is about? how does it work? will i be able to order this today with free delivery or is it some long procedure?

No .... I think PS3's take 2.5" drives. This is a 3.5"

Of course it will, however you will have to remove the motherboard first, and then it won't work anymore.

I checked the price of this, and it's cheaper than storing data on DVDs

- 400 DVDs at £18 per 100 = £72
- 400 DVD holder = £20

Total £92.

I haven't taken in consideration the physical space, availability, power consumption or weight

-1 for their system which doesn't allow to disable products
