Seems good value, Amazon are offering a Seagate 2Tb at £78.17 ATM not sure it's the same as the Maplins one?
amazon.co.uk/Sea…8-2

Is this the type you can plug into a TV and watch films etc from?

If your tv supports this function then yes, otherwise you would need a media player.

Don't forget secret5 for a further £5 off

or FREEGIFT for free LCD clock

Anyone know if these are reliable/good make? im told Fujitsu are poor.

Thanks.

Any reviews about this one?

As of a couple of days ago, it was slightly cheaper on Amazon, but now Maplin has them by a few pence. However, check out the large number of reviews on Amazon regarding a 'clicking' problem. Then go to Amazon.com and locate the same product. You'll see a worse picture there - almost as many 1* reviews as positive reviews. I bought the similar Western Digital 2TB drive instead as that has largely positive reviews for a few quid more.

is this powered from the usb cable?

Power will be from the mains.

nice

I use this for wii games and put a partiton on for films..... they advised a powered by mains cause the spin speed is more. (thats not my view but a techy at maplins). however having used it for several hrs last night its very quiet no problems with putting a partition on it. very happy and hope it helped others get a bargain.

Just picked one up from East Kilbride store, still about 10 or so in stock.

a few in newc

99.99 now
