Oh no, would I need to spend another £15 in 10 years? I best get saving

These are useful for where you need them, e.g bedside table where you might charge a phone and watch each night and need standard plugs for a lamp and clock for instance. This saves the need for an extension lead.

Ugly socket

Ugly socket

Yes quite. Looks like something out of a council house in white plastic. Mine are all brass except the kitchen where they are all stainless steel. And it doesnt cost a vast amount extra for something that lasts 25 years + when rewiring your house.

Gosh, brass and stainless steel.
Great deal, don't really need two, but have the ideal positions and saves having the bulky chargers always on show. Don't agree about white plastic not lasting and often they are only cheap to replace anyway, the only place I would use metal (brushed steel) would be in the kitchen as it is aesthetically pleasing, in other rooms I don't think of them as a feature

Not great for your electricity bill.
One of the best places to put these is behind a wall mounted TV. You can power Chromecast, Fire Stick etc. without using up sockets and space.

I prefer the BG triple USB version myself, they are £16 a pair:
