Ikea do white ones for £40 and multicolour for £50 but you get 4 strips of lights instead of 2.

I looked at these a while back from an american company. Checkout the videos.

barlighting.com/led…tml

The ikea ones don't react to sound, and although they will switch between 7 colours, it doesn't say anything about fading. The store linked above does have a link at the bottom of the page for additional bars - 2 x 15" for £15.99 or 2 x 9" for £12.99. So add those on and this is cheaper than ikea.

They're like the house equivalent of a chavtastic bodykit on a Mk 3 Cortina :whistling:

i was told that i would need at least 3 x 24" lights and 1 x 15" bar for my samsng 46"

1 x 24 on left, 1 x 24 on right and 1x24 and 1x15 along the top

tell this to phillips and their ] Ambilight :P

Speaking as someone who looked at 3rd party kits before settling with a 3 bar ambilight TV.

I ended up buying ambilight, because for the immersive movie feeling that ambilight does so well, the crucial part is that the light has to sync to the picture on screen, not to the sound from the speakers like kits in this price range.

Syncing to sound should be OK if it's for music/karaoke primarily, possibly gaming or if you want to watch TV/movies with random changing colours, in which case I can imagine this being really distracting rather than immersive.

The Philips AMBx lighting system is a better alternative, however it is only operated via PC - bought one for £16 a few months back - awesome effects though.
