This product has previously been on sale at £13.19 and £15.99

Admittedly £13.19 was three years ago and £15.99 was two years ago, so not that useful unless you have a time machine. £20 is a decent price. But £49.99? Another example of 'imaginative' pricing that doubtless fully complies with the regulations but is not entirely honest

I have one of these and its ok. Took some putting together though involving glue.

More of a pain in the **** compared to Ikea flat pack.

It looks like most of their bathroom cabinets are on sale, this one is a little on the small side I think.

Got this last year at a similar price. Has lasted well but the shelves are really thin and stuff tends to fall out quite a lot when you open the door. It's a bit fiddly getting stuff in and out too. It serves a purpose, but would get one with deeper shelves next time.

Don`t like it? Shop elsewhere.
Don`t like the price? Shop elsewhere.
At least Argos have the decency of telling you previous promotional prices so you can make an informed purchase decision. Don`t like that....? You`re bonkers.
And inflation is an average basket, not one item.

Thanks op, that`s my present sorted, heat

Oh dear. 200% inflation on an item isn't significant then? Name somewhere else where that happens in the economy? Mr bonkers

Quit bickering ladies

Thanks - very informative.

An alternative way of describing it then is that it barely did what one would expect right from the start (i.e. holding things on the shelves inside!), but at least is durable at not doing what it is supposed to!

So anything on promotion, say half price for a limited period is then given 100% inflation back at the usual price? Er, no.
Argos is simply stating what promotional prices the item has been sold at previously. And again, inflation is measured by a "basket" of items, not one thing, not one seller. That's called a price increase.

Thanks. Just had the bathroom refurbed this will go nice.

I got this once and I ended up returning it as I thought it looked awful in real life and involves a lot of work and pieces

great, just ordered, thanks.

Not 100%, around 200%. The RRP on this item is pretty suspect, this is not black Friday or the January sales. I doubt any of the items in that basket increased by 20% let alone 200% during that time period, especially given how much the price of oil has plummeted.

Wood effect!!! Does that mean it's plastic? The I would think its not worth it as I got one similar or exactly like this one 6 yrs ago for around £20

You are most welcome ☺☺☺

Bought one last year. Awful quality. Mirrors started to peel off after two weeks

This looks like a fairly major assembly exercise if the leaflet is anything to go by. More like blueprints for the Ark Royal than a bathroom cabinet! I don't have any DIY skills so would rather pay a few extra quid for something I can just hang on the wall and the comfort of knowing it's not going to fall apart after 10 mins. No doubt though that someone will find it a good buy.

Thanks I'll pick this up tomorrow. Has anyone got the HWARES20 discount code to work?

Bought one of these as a cheap put me on for our new house until we have a new bathroom fitted. It's sturdy enough although the white finish is a bit cheap looking. From memory it took about 30 minutes to assemble but I'm pretty average at DIY. For the price though you can't go wrong.

That basically means its MDF, not solid wood.

I have the exact same cabinet in my bathroom - got this 2 years ago and still going strong

I would recommend the Lillangen bathroom cabinet from Ikea. Most of these bathroom cabinets like this Argos one are so shallow you can barely put anything in them. The Ikea one is 21cm deep & 64 cm high & is available in either 40cm wide with a single mirrored door or 60cm wide with a double mirrored door. Comes in a choice of wood finishes on the frame. I have recently bought 2 in white plus the add on open shelving unit for one of them & am very pleased with them. Easy to assemble, sturdy, practical & look good. Only £19.90 for the single door one & £29.90 for the double door version.

Couldn't be assed with 2 doors never mind 3. Gimme a one door mirror cabinet for £20 from IKEA and i'll be happy.

I've got this in our spare en suite, it's great for the money.

The only criticism I'd point out is that it could do with a protective tab for when you push to open the doors (I can imagine this would be covered in messy finger prints under daily use).

I cannot comment on this particular product, but I gave up buying "furniture" from Argos years ago as the quality was just dreadful. They never assembled properly, finish was always tacky, and they were just so easy to damage. It was the ultimate tat. And I wasn't just buying cheap gear neither. I made a point of going for the "higher end" of the spectrum to avoid things like that happening. Personally, I would avoid like the plague.

Another great deal from this group - just ordered so thank you! Off to tesco in a few minutes to get some cut price prosecco. Don't need to fill up yet with low price petrol so will wait for this to go down even further. Could be a good Christmas! Really appreciate these alerts and always check them out

Friendly FYI: had this for nearly a decade now bought near the end of 2006, was easy to build and put up against the wall with the help of a friend. cost over around 40 at the time and we've made it last. We've still got it. condition at the moment, mirror glass rusting on corners and bottom edge where water has been in contact, rust is evident near screws, exterior panels still look mint albeit the back panel has now deformed due to moisture and damp within the bathroom I suppose. it's good it lasted long and at twenty quid I would say it's a bargain. here's a pic of mine now:
