I am aware this won't apply to everyone but I wasn't aware of this deal and have almost missed it so this post is in hope of helping out the people who are eligible and not as a direct incentive to buy a Chromebook.

I believe a 100GB of drive offer is pretty old and most people are aware. But if you bought/intend to buy one between 08/11/15 and 31/01/16 you also get a 3 free Google Play movies.

I will post a clickable link in the first comment as I am unsure due to nature of this offer how to do it otherwise.

Unfortunately you can't use this on any movie but only on a select 10, but there are some very nice movies there if you haven't seen them, especially as a freebie with your device.

Selection is:
Mission Impossible 1,2,3
Mean Girls,
Clueless,
Ferris Bueller's Day Off
Footloose
Flashdance
Forrest Gump
The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie
The SpongeBob Movie : Sponge Out of the Waters
Charlotte's Web
The Last Airbender
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle

Description on the site:
Enjoy three movies from a selection of favorites, compliments of Google Play. Redeem your movie credit now, or visit My Rewards for later use. Credit valid for the SD version of the movie only. Don't forget to revisit the Chromebooks Goodies page to redeem all three credits. Redeem your offer by January 31, 2017 and watch your selection on Google Play Movies & TV with your Chromebook.

Anyway I hope it helps someone out.

not a freebie

Yes apologies, I wasn't sure where this goes. MOD please move it to an appropriate forum.

As it cost me nothing (as I already bought a chromebook in this period) I for some reason thought it should go to a freebie section). Thanks for pointing this out.
besides the Pixel as its way out of my price range, what would people recommended?

Toshiba Chromebook 2 is an absolutely awesome machine (the more expensive one with full hd screen). But try waiting for Christmas discounts, it was selling for 220£ for black Friday at JL and I believe you could get it for similar amounts if you are patient. (currently it is around 250£ according to pricespy).

The screen is very very beautiful, the machine more than powerful for what it does and since I got it it has replaced my windows laptop 95% of the time. It is just faster and simpler and blissfully quiet
