Can you not just cancel the DD? Or will that cause problems?

Is there anyone here who has successfully cancelled?

It says you can, but you may want to double check - myfavouritemagazines.co.uk/ter…215

The term of any magazine subscription ordered throughmyfavouritemagazines.co.uk is 12 months.

have cancelled one in the past after a free gift and 6 month subscription but it would be a good idea to make sure you are allowed to cancel after 3 issues first.

Is it worth a subscription to gaming magazines anymore? I haven't been a sub since early 360 days or before, and wondered whether the content you get in the magazines differ from what you can find online from your general gaming sites?

As with anything, it is outdated before it gets to print.

I do buy Gamesmaster every now and then, just because it's nice to read a magazine instead of staring at a screen every now and then

Yeah, you get to wipe your **** with it once you're done.

Good price but I can't be bothered to phone them to cancel it when the trial period ends and no way am I writing to a company by post in 2015.

....I dont see this offer??

I have always cancelled any magazine trial by stopping my DD and never had any problems.

Only problem I have had is with Dennis Publishing, NEVER subscribe to any of their magazines by giving a valid telephone number as they will keep phone hassling you with further offers.

I don't see the point for tech magazines any more.... as anyone into gaming/technology is bound to have a tablet/smartphone and have access to the latest news/reviews, etc.

Pretty sad really. Kids will never experience the joy of having enough pocket money to go and buy a gaming magazine with a DVD full of demos!

Yes. Editorials. Admittedly the quality differs widely from publication to publication so maybe flip through the news aisles to see which ones have less fluff. Gamesmaster has tons of fluff. The Edge seems to have more in-depth pieces. PC Gamer feels a bit hit and miss sometimes

The current state of tech and gaming news sometimes is immensely.... boring.

Personality in writing is replaced by snark as the go to position. People pick on the smallest things and try to make news out of them or they go with a single source with zero fact checking. The attitude is shoot first and get corrections later (which is more of a tabloid approach).

I don't see a minimum term and in fact it says:

" there's no obligation and you're free to cancel at any time"

No need to call or post anything, I've always cancelled my direct debit online with my bank with these kind of offers.

May grab a PC Gamer sub for old times sake as I used to read them every month in the early 2000s.

I used to save my pocket money for magazines, video games, albums, singles...walk into town, it was all part of the experience. We all these days live in the convenience of not having to leave the house.

Personally always preferred GamesTM as a multiformat covering magazine to The Edge.

It will only let me pay for 1 year subscription. How do u get the offer for 3 months for £3?

I click on the deal then click on the magazine I want and only option I see if for 3 months so no idea what you're doing wrong.

I did too. Until all the Wii U snark. Sounds like I'm butthurt but there's legitimate criticism, and then there's snark. The latter is lazy writing.

I have always cancelled online with my bank in the past and never had any problems, will be doing the same this time.

I've just done pcgamer and tempted by edge or gamesmaster. Likewise to others i normally just cancel the direct debit once they have taken the first payment they need i.e. the £3. Then you normally get a letter saying they have failed to take payment, if you want to continue please contact and if not just leave it as it is

The link should take you to the special section, select the magazine you want and the payment will go through for £3, then simply cancel the subscription via Direct Debit

Echoing the above, I have previously just cancelled the DD and never had a problem at all.

Edge is the only one I buy, digitally on Zinio

yeah you can call them or cancel the direct debit to save the line charges

Too much hassle to cancel as the number you ring to cancel isnt a free number either and leaves you on hold for a long time.
