They’re £24 each, but also in a 3 for 2 offer. So if you buy 3 it only costs £48 aka £16 each.

I think @omega_ got the jist of the deal, just commenting on the senseless nature of Carphone Warehouse/Curry's flogging Google Home devices so cheap! It makes no sense but why should we complain, what a stonking deal! Heat!

How doesn’t this make sense to you?! Great deal OP. Thanks!
Important to note as well, the price tickets in store still have the item at £49 but come up cheap on the till.
Voted hot, good price but Alexa is all over me so I will not share her with Google. Probably the best price so far.
I reckon Google have secretly bought Currys/Cpw, Argos and John Lewis etc As they all seem to drop their prices at the same time on Google products.
Probably just Google incentivising retailers to clear current stock.

Because maybe new Google Home nd Google Minis coming out soon.

Also could be Google being a bit sneaky and dropping prices of the Google Home devices, just before Amazon run their big Alexa sale on Prime Day.
Rekon you could use their £10 switch voucher too? Don't need to switch, just get a quote

Curry's PC world vouchers do not work in carphone warehouse, believe me, I work for carphone and the amount of people who complain at me for it, it's unreal.

Amen, glad I’m not the only one
I'm sure Google are helping Curry's / CPW with some meaty discounts on all of the products. As another poster has said Amazon with Prime day on the way are going to to the same.

I hope they release a new version soon, the Mini's sound bloody awful.

Is there a way to control speakers using google assistant on a phone? I'd like to test out the basic functionality and see if my ageing mother would actually get to grips with it before I buy her yet another tech device that will end up gathering dust! I've got a speaker on it's way that's wifi and bluetooth compatible.

You use the Google Home app and can control all of it, plus you need that to set them up anyway

Can confirm this works - purchase limit online though. He said that even if they have no stock you can pay in store and get them posted.

Both Google and Amazon are selling their devices at a loss just on the parts, before you take account of distribution/retail margin/development. Eventually they will cost peanuts because both Amazon and Google are eyeing the future where you order your groceries/shopping/taxi/takeaways via a smart assistant and they can take a tidy chunk out of each transaction.

It is the perfect market for them because getting the AI for assistants right is a huge task, so if they get the market, it isn't going to be stolen by a Chinese startup. Hence why they are pouring money in now.

Cool brah
called their sales team. the 3 for 2 offer does not apply on home mini's because it's hardware, according to the sales agent I spoke to. Ice cold from my side.

If it was to undercut Amazon Google would be promoting cut prices more.

This really looks more like quietly clearing stock for a new version, possibly to be launched - at discount? - just before prime day.

I've saw @ £20 earlier this week. Dunno how legit though.

if it's any help, I bought my gran (66 years old) one in the week and she's already used the phone call feature 3 times and has had the radio on 24/7. She struggles with tech most of the time but has managed to get the hang of this!

I would imagine the user data that these things generate for Google / Amazon is worth far more than the device themselves, so heavy subsidies and volume sales bonuses for retail are nothing compared to that data value.
Just un boxed one now

It's not as good as Alexa for free music
Many thanks OP. Got three in Salisbury yesterday.

Most of them came free from google through Spotify promo and now sold on eBay
Got 3 from st John's retail park wolverhampton a steal at this price !
Thx OP, went to store and there was only two in stock but they ordered 6 of them for me to be delivered next day home, happy days
I asked whether they could do it for 3 for 2 in Oldham and they said no.

I pursued and they put it through. They thought it wasn't part of the offer.
Thanks op

Struggling to understand why this is not hotter. Picked up mine yesterday & it appears the offer is still on. I know you need to buy 3 but these are going for between 18-20 plus 3.48 postage on eBay.
