This is a good deal as it could pay for itself in on restaurant visit. However, there are usually special introductory trials giving 2 months free e.g. Lancashire Life Offer but there are differences e.g.

1. On the free offer if you don't cancel before your 2 months is up they charge you for a full year. With the KGB offer presumably once your 2months is up you don't have to do anything.
2. Once you have used a 2 month free offer you can never use another free offer with them. I don't know if taking the KGB offer will stop you using the free offer in future as it doesn't say. If you have already used a free offer before you will be able to use the KGB offer though.
3. Hi-Life have different types of cards. It looks like the one they give you on the KGB offer is a national one. This is okayish but gives you a thinner covering of restaurants than the regional cards (which the link to the free offer gives you).

I have a regional Hi-Life card and it is very handy (got it through Tesco clubcard points though had to fight a bit to get a regional one instead of a national one - I think you can only get a national one now).

I have one of the regional cards - I started with 2 months free and then I kept it. I've used it only once though - but it already paid for itself. It is nice - you have dinner in a good restaurant and only pay for one instead of for two (some restaurants do half the entire meal - starter, mail, dessert, some only the main meal).
