No you don't, I got one when I subscribed ages ago. It can take a while to turn up, the toolkit that is, but it does turn up and it's been pretty handy for delving inside the PC.

H&R.

I know that this has been posted before because I have gone for it.

The toolkit is as can be expected - useful, in fact really useful, but not very good quality...

goddamn it, for £1 it's as hot as two nuns playing squat tag in a cucumber patch. :w00t:

Thanks, signed up- great mag

Hot from me...

Just remember to remove the direct debit after (you don't need to inform them iirc). I did this for about a year, they rang me up offering new £1 offers for other magazines as well. I guess they're hoping you forget to remove it or continue the subscription.

The toolkit is very handy, obviously not of high quality but it's useful having around.

Cold useless magazine now with i7 and i5 which are very easy to overclock

"FREE TOOLKIT" naa I suscribe twice but never received the poundland tool kit

The toolkit is verry cheep and not made well

do i need a promotional code, or do i just subscribe and the toolkit will come with it

For a £1 can't complain..ordered and heat added!

Beware of the precision screw drivers in the set! They usually become parts if you put too much strength when using them. Overall the set is cheap but bad. I can get one for free in my uni.

Honestly the best pc hardware enthusiast mag in the uk imo. i've learnt so much from them over the years. they also have a partnership with www.bit-tech.net . toolkit is really useful, but again shame about the quality.

Engage brain before using keyboard. t's not just about overclocking guides. You can get them anywhere and Core 2 was easy to overclock too if you bothered to read their articles and only a tiny fraction of the mag is about overclocking anyway. What about news, exclusive modding coverage, columns and features...

Cheers OP, just signed up. The toolkit looks just like a promo one which companies can put their logo on like you can with pens, keyrings etc

Yep the toolkit may be cheap, but it would come in very handy for someone that might be wanting to build there first ever PC, but lack the correct tools for the job.

anyway its a fantastic magazine, that i like to think of as a bit of a PC enthusiast's bible. lol

Good deal (Voted Hot) but the toolkits are terrible.

you mean koolvin left the main helms, and eventually some one sold out to dennis publishing.

but yes at the moment its my fav mag

Super hot deal. Great spot OP. I can't believe people are complaining about the quality of the toolkit, it's £1 and it's not like you are going to be putting up shelves inside your PC case!

Heat Added, Many thanks.

Thanks, ordered! Sometimes it's just good to sit and read rather than sit on this here internet polava.

totally agree super_dooper_man. its great to sit and read, with a nice hot cup of tea, and a pack of smokes.

Just got another email about the date the magazine arrives.

First issue due: 21st January 2010
1st Direct Debit to be taken: 22nd January 2010
Amount to be taken by Dennis Publishing Ltd: GBP 1.00 for 3 issues
Subsequent payments of GBP 15.99 every 6 issues
26 PIECE TOOLKIT 6 jif

I don't know why people complain about the toolkit, the one huge benefit of it is the set of tweezers, those are worth the £1 on their own for all of the motherboard screws I've had to dig around for.

Ditto - although the first payment date got changed to the 25th after that, for some reason.
Nevertheless, between the 21st and 29th of January i'd received the first magazine, had the £1 direct debit taken out, canceled the subsequent payments from the direct debit, and the toolkit then turn up, so no complaints here! :-D

anyone recieved a toolkit yet?
