Great magazine -- I have been a subscriber for years.

Sea ghosts, teenage witches, mermaid babies and conspiracy theories galore - it's all in Fortean Times. With clippings and news from all over the world, every issue charts the wilderness between the known and the unknown - leaving you to make up your own mind whether things really are as they seem.

A good deal and an entertaining read, even if it's all complete nonsense.

That said, I wouldn't take advantage of any deal whereby if you don't notify them after the 3 issue trial is up, they carry on charging you full whack.

Once they have taken the £1 just cancel the DD online and you're done.

Call me an old cynic but I'm convinced they'd play at silly buggers and claim you hadn't notified them in time. If the whole point of such a deal is for them to convince you to take out a full subscription I can't believe they'd let you go that easily.

Well, they cant get at your cash if the dd instruction has been removed.

I have done this several times without any problems whatsoever.

They do and it is that simple. You will get a letter saying that they were unable to collect via the dd and if you wish to carry on with the subscription resnd your details, however when you ignore the letter, that will be it,no more communication.
