Been after one of these for my iPad. Cheaper than the tools on eBay.

Compatible with the Apple iPod touch, iPhone, iPad or Mac as well as any other WiFi-enabled computer or device.

Portable enough to fit in your pocket.

What you need to know:

As with mobile phones, coverage can vary across the country. If you already have a 3 phone then you will get similar coverage with 3 mobile broadband. If you're new to 3 you can check out coverage before purchasing by sending a free text message to 885588 with the postcode (1 per request) you want to check and you'll get a reply back giving you info on your selected area.

What speeds should I realistically expect to get from my modem?

Across the UK, typical download speeds range between 1-2.8Mbps. This will vary depending on where you live and how many customers are using the service.

i have had one of these dongles rubbish pay £10 more for the latest model.

Cant your iphone make a adhoc wifi network??? seems a bit pointless

The description is that of the newer model, but the picture is the older one. Its worth noting that you can unlock both models for free, I posted the link on here some time ago. I own the e585 (the newer one). Its a nice piece of kit. Normally about 50gbp.

Yes it can. Uses battery up fast though.

Good price since I paid £69.99 with 3Gb of data use to 3 a couple of months ago to avoid broadband downtime during a scheduled power cut. The MiFi worked well and was as fast as the BT service we have to put up with since we are a long way from the nearest exchange. A plus point for 3 is that they had a temporary generator set up at the relay station during the power outage or my cunning plan to avoid internet downtime would have been a shambles.

This seems to be for the old model. If you browse the site there is a black one with the E585 model number. You can see the differences in the UI.

Do you still have that link? I bought the newer model but it'd be nice to unlock it and chuck in my Voda SIM.

download qmat or psas to read the efs, then find your unlock code with a hex editor, you also need the program to enter the code, the links below should help, zibri's unlock is instant but you have to pay so much better to DIY

ehh e220? the newer version of this is the e585 and it's locked to three. The best network coverage is dependant on which area you are using it in

For a bit more money you could get an android phone with tethering. The San Francisco does it with a custom rom, and I think the Pulse should do it, too.
