Are you not allowed to leave home if you're on such a plan?

No, you have to stay at home and listen to pop music all day and will be issuing electronics tags in the near future to make sure of this, with curfew mode for kids or partner ( it switches to an avant grade classical only channel, after 7pm)

Nice find
Didnt work for me as I recently just got the 6 months free trail from a £1 game pass ultimate. Had my fingers crossed as would prefer the 3 months family over 6 months individual

You could get another family member to head the account...
If you can't get the free offer try Amazon Music HD, incredible sound quality (millions of tracks in 24 bit better than CD quality) and 90 days free on individual or family plan.

Damn. Already signed upto the standard 3mth trial
I signed up to the three month trial, gave it to my son so I had to use my wifes card when I had the 6 months free trial so what am I going to do now lol...
So, is it ok if the subsidiary account holders have previously had a free subscription as long as the primary account holder hasn’t...?

shame its only with new accounts
How much is this normally. I'm currently a leach on a friend's account but am thinking of getting one for myself and fam
Are there any ways to get around needing to be in the same household? Heard accounts being blocked because of this.
Want to share an account with my mates but I believe the Family Account is address-blocked.
I just do new accounts and then follow play lists from my old accounts lmao
Only way I'd see it working sharing wise is new accounts all round so to speak

As long as all the members use the same address when signing up you won’t have an issue. Don’t have to actually live together and they have no way of checking either

Family is £15 a month, it's incredibly good value compared to the single one.
Pity It says no prepay cards. I was going to use a burner card on Revolut account b

How long did them take to send you a code? I bought game pass solely for the Spotify premium offer, I've been waiting around a week now.😔

Actually they can and are checking already in the USA, where they use the phones GPS to confirm you are actually at the same place you have declared when signing up
This is already being implemented in the UK now as well, they use google maps to receive your location
Over on the Spotify forums and SubReddit there are tons of people kicked off the plan because either they refused to share the location or the location was not the same as the one declared on the Family plan account
Spotify are cracking down rapidly on Family plan abuse.

So yes they do have a way to check and yes they are using that and kicking people off the plan
As Google Play Music is being retired, I'm in the process of choosing a new streaming service.

I have never used Spotify, but as it is the most popular service, I expected it to be a pretty polished experience. Man, was I wrong.

In a week, I have so far managed to use it once without encountering a bug.

The most annoying is the several clicks it takes to connect to a Google Cast speaker (my whole house is set up with these).

Close second is that it thinks my Samsung smartwatch is a car and automatically switches to car mode every time. Doesn't remember my preferences.

The list just goes on and on - I actually can't believe how bad the Android app is. Not just in terms of bugs, but design and features too.

Playlists clear as they play so you can't go back to find the track you liked. Songs appear in the wrong albums etc. The whole this is just a mess. And as far as I can tell there is no way to upload your own music as Google and Apple Music offer. So it's the same price for far fewer features than any of the competition. How is this crumby service so popular.

Can I cancel the trial straight away (to avoid being billed) and continue to receive Premium until the 3months ends or will it revert to Free straight away if I do this?

Set 2 reminders on the calendar on your phone, one for 72 hours before the 3 months is up, the other for 24 hours before. That way you are less likely to forget to cancel.

I have both and NEITHER are flawless. The GPM Andoird app is rough around the edges but I can handle that. The most sizable issue I have with GPM is that there is no way to add tracks to your library in bulk, only one track at a time! That's ridiculous!

Yes, calendars alarms are my fallback. Does this mean I can't cancel now then and keep Premium for the 3 months I've just started?

Sorry but this is rubbish, I've been sharing a family plan with many people around the globe as part of a community who share family plans and it's never been an issue. Spotify had plans to implement GPS tracking to verify locations but backtracked on it. The currently absolutely do not look at location. As long as everyone has the same address in their account that's all that matters.

Many families don't even live in the same location. For example my family is split across 5 different countries so how would they differentiate between a normal family and someone who is sharing with a stranger. Short of adding ID verification, which they're not going to do any time soon.

Indeed, see my comment about not going out of the house - it sounds like something a Marketing guy came up with & a dozy dev said, yes we can technically do that before real-world feedback caught up.

Ten days and they send both through xbox and email.
If you've had a previous trial can you sign up with a new email or do you need a new payment card too?
Brilliant deal! Have never had Spotify before so am really pleased to be able to get this for 3 months free. Thanks very much for sharing.
