Looks like a really good deal to me. 3 nights B&B in Iceland including flights and a Northern Lights tour! Would make a really unusual Christmas present for someone.

Stopping in the Bjork hotel which is 4/5 on trip advisor.

I won't let me change the link for the offer so I have posted it above.

December break is £229

Link for it... Linky

Irritating that they want you to call an 0870 number instead of just giving you the details...

Worth noting that you will be lucky to see a proper viewing of the Northern Lights if only there for 3 nights.

Better chance than being stuck at home for 3 nights though in my book!

You might change your mind when you get there Jackst01 Depressing place!

Great deal for a break, but wouldn't count on seeing the lights.

Anyone managed to book at that price? The offers where you have to phone normally double in price by the time you've finished

I thought these are the best time of year to have a high chance of seeing them. PLus this is the best year. Why are people saying you wont be able to see them?

Because they may be quite frequent, you are relying on many factors. Obviously there needs to be solar activity, but equally as important, no clouds!

This month will be the best time for the next 11 years to see them when the suns magnetic pole switches.

I've booked to go for a week next Easter. I expect I will be unlucky, but Iceland is a fascinating place geographically too. Lots to see.

I was mealy pointing out that if you are going there with the pure intention of seeing the lights that it might not happen. Just didn't want people to spend money and be disappointed that's all.

Ive always avoided the place like the plague for fear of bumping into kerry katona or stacey sullivan

And it is a pretty important fact to point out, I suppose it's a case of 'you pays your money, you takes your chance" but I, for one, would be HUGELY disappointed if I didn't see them on a visit......

Where are the flights from?

Cheers for the info - have fancied this for years and always (incorrectly) that it was nailed on that you would see the lights in winter time !
Think I may well reconsider !

Spent 3 nights in Tromso, Norway last December. We had a rubbish cloudy first night out spotting, but the 2nd night was incredible.
So it is possible to see them on a short stay, but from what we were told, we were very lucky to have such a vivid light show.

I love Iceland, there's nothing 'depressing' about it. Saw some fantastic sites on trips and hikes, and Reykjavik is a lovely friendly town. Beautiful place. If you have the sun, sea and sand mentality then it might seem 'depressing'.

Been meaning to go back, so will have to pass this offer by the other half.

My friend went to Reykjavik for the weekend a few weeks ago and saw nothing on the first night, but a really good display of lights on the second. Like others have said, it comes down to luck, but is well worth it for the chance to see them.

Because there is warning when they will be visible (clouds permitting) it is possible to maximise your chances.

I went to Iceland two years ago in December for 7 nights, and I saw the northern lights on 5 of those nights, they are absolutely amazing. Something I thought I would never see.

Looks great - would love to go, but would want more than a few days...HOT

I've seen the Northen Lights right here at home in the UK, twice. It was quite fantastic and very special even though it was nothing like as good as the shows you get up around the Arctic Circle. I would love to go on a spotting trip up there, but if it was only three days, with my luck, it would be fantastic the night before I arrived, and the night after, with cloud in between

This is a great site for finding when auroras might appear, you can register for email alerts.

Link doesn't work and it is an affiliate one?

Tromso in Norway is much better and nowhere near as packed.

Fantastic deal. I went to Iceland for the first time in August and loved it. Can't wait to go back.

Awesome deal thanks, maybe I'll finally go to Iceland. Disappointed how few use it's landscape for art work, must be inspirational.

Good club scene too...?

Is this company any good? Has anyone had/heard anything about them? Seriously considering this as my partner and I need a getaway somewhere

A little research into the company, based in Reading, local rate phone number; 0118 981 4333.

That link works for me. Price is per person and I don't see any flight details. And you've got to ring up for it (so it'll probably be double the price by the end of the phone call)

I can't help but think there may be better deals out there

Wish I had the spare cash for this. Great deal.

we saw them 5 nights out of 7 in levi Finland this january but we were very lucky we had reasonably clear cold nights, however we only aaw them dance once. Looking on the alaskan website auroa forecast maps the swathe always cuys through Iceland so if you want to have agood chance of seeing them then there it is. we go to Iceland in january as astop over for new york as ive always wat to go but as long as seeing the lihhts arent ylir only reason for going then its all good. there was a couple in the chalet in Finland and they never went snowboarding, to ride huskie, eei just went oit at night for the lights. luckily they were playing, I m sure tgey had a good holiday nut theres so much more to see and do

And I'm not sure when or where they went, but my trip to Iceland was anything but packed. Very few people around.. it was extremely peaceful.

Looks very cool!!

Thanks for that.

Will there be any restrictions on the date? It's my birthday in January and I like the idea of being in Iceland for it.

Has anyone phoned up yet and got a final price? I've been looking at a trip for my hubby's 40th in December and the flights are a fortune....if this is true then hot!!!!

I just rang up (using the landline number 0118 9814333) and was quoted £199 flying from Bristol on 9 Jan (note this price was for hand luggage only)
Was told that most other dates in January are around the £250 mark.
Hope that helps
Edited by: "eggsy1" 18th Nov 2013

We've just rang up and they said anywhere besides Bristol is way over £350. Shame that, as Manchester or London would've been the most ideal.

EDIT: This was for January by the way.
Edited by: "panda92" 18th Nov 2013

Beautiful country and if you could get anywhere near this price then it'll be a bargain.
