I work in RPE (respiratory protective equipment) and have done for a while - there's so much rubbish being spouted about masks in general plus a load of knock offs that don't conform to EN standards, that I got our marketing team to create a video to explain the differences in types of masks. This can be found here:

Note to mods - this isn't a sales pitch. We don't sell direct to end users, this is designed to help people at a difficult time.
£0.38p per mask, cheaper than any current UK seller, but not as cheap as AliExpress

It has no effect or very limited effect on protecting you from COVID19. But it can protect others if you are asymptomatic. May be everyone is asymptomatic, who knows?
Can you not buy them leave them in the bag for 3-4 days then use ? I believe the virus can only live for 72 hours on a non living object ?

AliExpress are about 20 day delivery - so if people can grab one pack of these whilst waiting for a delivery, bargain

Any links to buy online from decent sellers
Masks are not useless hence why they are used in hospitals and various other places. They are not p3 grade and will not prevent infection but they do help. The price is much higher than usual but with supply low and these being much cheaper than other places it's not a bad deal
It's outside this topic.

The risk of shopping online is more less the same as shopping from the local supermarket.

If anyone worrys about it, one can always leave the shoppings/parcels for a few days before opening it.

What Virus (waits for 77 brigade...)
These masks offer little to no protection nor will they prevent spreading of virus. Maintaining distance is more effective.

Govt easing can only result in an increase in about three weeks. And it will of course disproportionately be the poorest who will be hardest hit.
I should buy some of these to go in my survival kit that currently consists of: holy water, garlic, a crucifix, the bible

Already people walking past me and behind me like Boris has said it's ok to do!. Seeing me in front of you and choosing NOT to cross over the road in my book is not correct at all

The ones I ordered are no longer listed - but the majority of them appear to be the same - have a look, but make sure you only buy from someone who has a feedback (a lot of new sellers have appeared) and look for a score of 4.5 or higher.

And even on Amazon, the good ones have a delivery date late June or mostly July.
So they must be waiting shipments in from China

You need a minimum of kn95 (equivalent to ffp2) ideally KN99 (ffp3), they will limit viral transmission. The intensity of the disease is said to depend on the the viral load you receive. The pm2.5 designated masks whilst preventing droplets it wont prevent the virus if smaller than 2.5 microns (covid is far smaller).

Any face covering will be better than none, and note vast majority of these kinds of masks can only be worn for a few hours before they become ineffective. The idea is to lower the risk to yourself and others .. and dont forget the virus can be transmitted through the eyes.

To the best of my knowledge, they have yet to establish how long this virus can live on surfaces, they've just made estimates based on other coronaviruses. Can I ask where you got the '72 hours' figure from?

We had a bulletin come through in work with some facts and figures and the usual how to wash etc. Something along these lines was quoted. google.co.uk/amp…amp
I'd rather use re-usable cloth masks. Disposable masks create too much pollution. They should really only be available to front line NHS staff.

I read the comments and I am always disappointed by what I find.

However, you have reaffirmed that there are good people out there who promote good ideals. Thankyou for your consideration. Many hospitals are working without any masks

I am still working, sometimes 15 hour days - so not as much time on my hands as my furloughed colleagues!
UK, US and brazil have beem the worst affected countries, whats common betweent them , its the policy on wearing masks
