3 Pack Of Google Home Mini's, from the Official Google Store on eBay UK

Found 1st Dec
Looks like a good price for 3 x Google Home Mini's, even beating some of the recent Black Friday deals. It seems the official Google store is just new to eBay.
I checked and I couldn't see this posted previously.

As mentioned by some helpful people in the thread, the eBay store is run by Kondor Ltd, a multi-million pound electronics company, on behalf of Google and is 100% legitimate.

Funny thing how fast Google home went down in price. I have 5 Echo dots …Funny thing how fast Google home went down in price. I have 5 Echo dots and one Google home and I barely use Google. It's just a gadget whilst Alexa controls whole house and still can answer Google questions.

Gonna need more details there since home can also control all of a smart home and, well, no surprise you use the thing that's present in more places more often. That's like saying you use chairs more often than beanbags.

It's a new trading name, they have several other stores such as tech-refresh, vodafonestore, and o2-uk-shop, all the same company, (Kondor) Which also owns the kitsound brand, and is poor for service when it comes to returning faulty items, but bargains to be had occasionally

Google controls a lot of the house too....and It's personal preference to which brand you like. I prefer the Google Home Mini as I use Google Music, whereas the Echo dot does not support that. It's got a louder speaker than the dot too....

amazon have had a head start by about 2 years. but in the short time the google stuff has been out, they've made excellent strides to catch up.

but yeah, they are both very good, depends on which eco system you are already tied into. if you have things in google calendar etc then google home/mini might be more suitable. if you're not in the google eco system then the echo might be the way to go.

How do you verify it's actually Google?
I could register a new eBay account and call myself Official Apple eBay Store

Heated anyway as it's a good deal if it's real

Almost certainly isn't an official Google store. Read the seller info. They seem to be an electronics reseller. Not to say it's an issue as such with eBay/PayPal protection.

Sounds too dodgy to me pass I think

Bummer. I bought 2 already. This would have been nice

Kondor used to make phone cases, chargers etc..

Fair point, at first glance I had presumed it was the official store after spotting them on today's eBay daily deal, and that it was a opening promotion of some kind. Seller has 100% feedback and with Paypal protection there shouldn't really be a problem, though. I will amend title to make it clearer.

No not dodgy, I've bought loads from them in the past, mainly SD cards, always been happy with them

Only issue I had was a S7 edge led cover went faulty and they were slooooow to sort out a refund when they had no stock to exchange and their feedback reflects that in their other eBay stores

As mentioned already, Kondor operate official stores for large businesses so this is legitimate.

With the eBay safe guards in place this seems like a bargain

As mentioned already, Kondor are a legit company who partner with major brands to run their ebay stores. They make kitsound stuff also which resulted in some mega bargains from their ebay vodafone store last Xmas!

Their turnover was 130 million quid last year!

Bought a cheap one on Black Friday. Good points:- speech recognition is very good; plays BBC radio channels out of the box; speech play quality very good; music play quality is adequate (we use Spotify); weather, time, travel times all work (as expected);
Needs:- voice mobile calling via Android phone; stupid omissions :- cannot say UK TV schedules

What, like the echo series

I remember amazon going very aggressive last year in discounting the echos last year.

this is a very tempting offer......

Why are they lying about their brand name? Sounds like scummy business practices to me

Oh sorry but Amazon didn't put price down by third just after releasing Echo. Otherwise people would not kill each other every time when it drops 5 or 10 quid

I use Alexa because is more convenient and believe me Google can't control all of smart home

They are not lying, as others have pointed out, they have officially partnered to run the eBay store for them, on there behalf. They are themselves, a multi-million pound electronics company.

Hi

Would you please share some details about your setup.

I have just bought Dot and plan to buy a smartthings hub and start.

You setup sound impressive given the control of blinds etc.

Would you pls guide me on the journey ahead.

Thanks

It could be as that’s the same address as Vodafone eBay store. They have loads of companies operating out of there

I want 1 but price has gone up everywhere

Or buy 3 from argos and get £10 gift card.. which makes £92 plus some quidco cashback..

Just realised argos price gone up too.. so above deal is cheapest.

Don't forget these wont work with hive heating

The mic on these are rubbish

So you'll have some specific services that you've found haven't worked with google home? That'd be useful info. Names. Models. Factual stuff.

Personally, I've got a home and a home mini but no alexa stuff. The home mini may well be the best purchase, it's continually surprising me with the range at which it hears me so one in the bedroom covers from the front door to the office (adjacent rooms but up to 4-5m away). It controls my Yeelights successfully and integrates nicely with my Chromecasts, in particular saying "okay google, play 'the IT crowd'" and having it fire up the receiver, projector, then just work is amazing.

*edit* you mentioned blinds in a comment up above, that'd be massively useful to me as my blinds are manual at the moment but need dropping when we start the projector. It looks like at the moment it'd be best to use an IR or z-wave system then tie it together with a smartthings hub or IR emitter.

Didn't know this. They support Hive Active Lights and Plugs, so would assume its coming.

Get a broadlink RM pro. Will control all RF devices too which the smartthings hub won't.

I like all my alexa devices especially the show device in the kitchen, I'm heavily in to the amazon ecosystem like amazon music, prime movies, audible, ordering things from amazon etc (I spend between 6 and 10 k a year there, mainly work stuff).

I would have looked at the google home, but having to say 'okay google' is just daft. Being able to say 'Alexa' or' Computer' is better and far more natural. You don't ask your family things by saying 'Okay, wife, shall we go to the pub', or 'Okay child, get in the car'. Having an actual name is what sets it apart. If google does something similar then thats the final barrier broken.

Better than Black Friday deals!!

I've got both the Echo, Dot, Home and Home mini and they are all pretty great.

Audio sound quality is better on the full size Echo rather than the Home. As far as the mini's go the Home mini sounds much better then the Dot but the Dot probably trumps it because you can connect to a Bluetooth speaker or use a 3.5mm lead - crazy that the home mini doesn't allow you to do this.

Having said all that the Echo is pretty poor for answering questions and giving info when you talk to it naturally. The Google devices are a million miles ahead in this area. With the Echo you have to use the right key word and sometimes it's hard to remember them. Amazon need to work on this.

This is a hot deal for sure.
