I found this via an Ebay sale email I got this morning. I think this is fantastic value for a decent sized cast iron casserole alone, never mind with a full sized griddle pan and gratin dish included. Usually these gratin dishes are stoneware, not the sturdy cast iron as this one is. Free delivery too for such a heavy item, bonus! It says it's reduced from £90, which could almost be correct, for once.

Good spot, OP! Hot from me.

I know this may sound silly.. but does anyone know if you can you use the casserole dish on the hob as well as in the oven?

I am kind of new to buying different bits for the kitchen as I moved out of home last year and I bought a casserole dish that looked like the one here but I didn't read the tiny description on the side and I put it on the hob and the bottom exploded

Edit: Just read the listing and it says it does! No more exploding pots! I think I might buy this OP, thank you

Sometimes these Le Creuset "wannabes" offer a cheaper alternative to the real thing, with minimal compromise in quality.

This set seems to be just that, so singe value added

oops! looks like someone added it for me now. And yes I agree, you don't need Le Creuset for a quality long lasting casserole dish. I do have a le Creuset but I also have two Fraser's Linea ones that I bought a few years ago in a sale and they're just as good.
