I've seen em for £15 each, so even £15 for three looks good.
But £4?

I agree, I know they've been £5 a while for 3 but for £4 its all of a 20% saving haha...

I might have a look see if my locals got any of these as the light on my sky + box and various other electronics annoy the hell out of me when im trying to sleep, would be easier to switch everything off with all the plugs on remote.

Got the missus to check for these when they were a fiver, but in our local stores they were still 20 quid.
Anyone know if they would work with the Home Easy range, as I just want the sockets, don't need more remotes.

Is your sky boxes made out of gold?

Just a word of caution. Not on price but use. I have theses and they are prone to activation with modern remote car keys. Strange at first, then creepy then just bloody annoying when things go on of off at odd times. So if you are near parked cars watch out, it's not a ghost! Wooooohooooooo!

Sky+ boxes are notoriously moody about being powered on/off. You'll notice they don't have a power on/off switch and there's a reason for that.

Also - the whole point of them is to leave them on so they RECORD things for you - if you don't use that feature, get rid altogether!?

Ah.

I have something similar, not by this brand and ive also noticed that things just spontaneously switch back on during the night, which does get annoying. Up until now i though the plugs were dodgy lol

I always turn my sky box off of a night or when I am out. I know when I want to record something so leave it on when I do. Been doing that for about 2 years and not had a problem with it. Sadly it's made out of plastic, not gold.

gasp!!!!

I have a set of this type of thing bought from Tescos a good while ago and can thoroughly recommend them. Excellent invention

gotta be careful switching the sky box off as sky will get the hump (in the first 12 months) and send you a letter, its part of the contract that you leave it on, and they update your box in the middle of the night hence know your powered down.
That being said I have one of these and power down my skybox most of the week but leave it on when recording or at the weekend for skys benefit, also I have a temperamental sky box that used to glitch at least once a week, meaning I had to grope behind the telly to unplug it for a soft reset whereas now it never glitches as it has a soft reset on a regular basis

Stupid Sky+ box takes an age to turn back on again, I find a little black tape does the trick

I have the set from Asda. They work very well on the whole but a word of warning if your house suffers frequent power cuts - like ours does :-( Each time you get a power cut of longer than 10 seconds you have to go around and reconfigure them all again - I have nine of them!

The problem is that when the power comes back on all of them go back into learning mode! As I say, they seem to hold memory for about 10 seconds so short power blips should be okay.

It’s funny that people are very self-conscious of being singled out as being, “un-cooperative”, “rebellious”, right up to that big vun, “illegal”. Now, when it comes to one’s real, true blue human rights and not that superficial one driven by hypocrisy, oka “tree-stump rights”, most couldn’t and wouldn’t give a damn. Self-poisoning, self-destroying and so forth are acknowledged and then forgotten but when it comes to being exposed as being, “illegal”, even Mr Skydoch is able to exert influence beyond his capacity and capability. Sky, like all the hypocritical goody-2-shoes are only bothered about infinising - to become soo bigge that ……. he’ll then be able to control one and all of the self-conscious, self-destructives, be they the naïve, the uninitiated and the addicted. How else would the mere mentioning of, “I’m leaving …”, brings forth, “Aat your service, Sheila”.

Those who has guilt-kum-anger, need humility whereas those who lack it do not require to be humble - as in the non-thinkers, like animals and infants, oka non-thinkers. When discrimination lacks absoluteness, that’s the time to be non-discriminating, oka discretion. When you are the paymaster to those who seek to merely infintise, there is no discretion required, there is only the need to be absolutely discriminatory - tell ‘em to fly kites should they feel that your money has less value than declared by the Treasury. Should enough do that [i.e. be absolutely discriminatory, espcially in beginning when these kinds of funny demands are promoted] instead of feeling guilty, the infinitisers won’t have anywhere to go but up their ……

It's OK to turn off Sky at the mains. It's just like switching-off your PC at the mains and when you restart, you are just rebooting the Sky box. These damn control-freaks have only one goal, to control for they sake of control and little else [in reality] and the joke is on them because control is merely abandonment at another moment which is why the revenue they've derived through "control"-ism is mostly used for their frivolity which they then excused as utility.
