...an agressive PRICE .. to meet their 1/2 year target!

To use your 3 USB modem youll need a few things. Your computer or laptop needs a minimum of 50MB hard disk space, 1 free USB port, a Windows 2000, XP, Vista or and Mac OSX operating system. Installation is quick and easy. And the great user-friendly Modem Manager interface not only manages your connection, it displays all the messages you receive on your mobile broadband number. You can even reply to your text messages while logged in.

WATCH out for 2 or 3 traps ...

Mileage COUNTER of software is defunct ...
in other words .. MILEAGE/USAGE-documentation ... displayed via MODEM SOFTWARE is totally 'out of range' ( does not add up!)

CAREFUL - you might overrun your allowance ...costing you 100's £

the TEXT receive and reply function "they praise" above .. will COST you EXTRA ... (some of the finer TRICKS of this NETWORK)

Otherwsie .. a fine PRODUCT ...

Can you combine existing customer discount with this offer?, thereby making it £3.25

if your an existing customer, have a compatible phone and just want the internet for a short period you can get the internet access as an add on for £10 or £15 per month. You are then only tied in for 30 days, quite a cheap way of doing it if you dont need mobile access all the time.

Otherwise go for this deal, voted hot.

Hmmmm.

Will this definatley work with an EEE pc - even if it doesn't have windows? I was under the impression that 3 was the only one which wouldn't - not sure where i got that from to be honest but just thought I would check

A friend of mine uses this with his EEE PC no problems and I borrowed it and it works fine under Mac OSX 10.5.

Must resist .....

Accoding to a couple of online reviews. Problem is, the more I read, the more complaints I find.

I noticed that the url from quidco is threestore.three.co.uk/dea…183 which for the £7.50 deal ends with offercode=18M3ECD001&id=1183 now, some interesting things occur when you alter some of the numbers in that url. ##M represents the months of the contract, however this cannot be changed from 18 months. #E stands for for GB allowance so 3 for 3GB (£7.50) and 7 for 7GB (£15) however if you change it to 1E you get the 1GB allowance for £5/month on 18month contract. And finally CD001 stands for the 3 usb modem, changing this value to CD002 gives you the ZTE USB Modem. i gues &id=1183 referred to affiliate network.

Therefore changing the end of the url to 18M1ECD002 gives you an 18 month contract with 1GB allowance per month for £5/month with the ZTE usb modem.

nb- I cannot be held responsible if 3 say that these offers are not valid or quidco fails to work.

Thanks Monkey and to neh0 too - ill do some digging

I spotted this outside of the forums and signed up immediately - voted HOT

After reading the reviews I'm doubtful on this - think I'll dip my toe in the water by getting the Nokia 6120 (six month contract for £15pcm) and see what speed I get with that before signing up.:?

3 Customer service is very bad straight through to India !!

Excellent OP, I had the 1 gig £10 a month payg package as I was not a three customer...

I am one now, 3 gig for £7.50 a month, you canny whack it with a big stick.

Have lots of rep:thumbsup:

I've just tried this and ordered zte over 18 months and costs a fiver a month. Quidco has only tracked at £1.55. However 18 times £5 = £90 which is only£40 more than modem worth on payt basis, so i'm quite happy well done original poster and cresote!

3 mobile broadband can be troublesome especially at peak times when you cannot get pages to load, but generally I find it good and for £7.50 good value for money.

Absolutely SHOCKING SHOCKING SHOCKING reviews....avoid unless you think saving £7.50 a month is worth slow slow slow pages and hours of calls to the helpline (in India!!)

I have been using the white modem with an Eeepc on lynux with no problems at all the only thing you dont get is the usage interface that you get with windows. I just use it for mobile browsing and currently only use a third of my £5 a month 1gb allowance.

Regarding 3s kind offer of using your phone as a modem for £10 a month , before i bought the mobile modem i used my phone as a modem with a £5 internet add on and my mobile internet usage always came up as zero. ;-)

I know how much they charge but how do they do it if your on payg and not a contract?

Its not PAYG....

pay monthly is 10p per MB so yes £100+ per GB

But for payg, its £1 per MB so £1000+ per GB

for pay as you go
Broadband Lite 1GB ---- £10
Add Broadband Plus 3GB ----£15
Add Broadband Max 7GB -----£25

then £1 per MB over the allowance

I am using T-mobile USB Broadband and my flatmate is using 3' USB broadband. T-mobile is atleast twice faster than 3 network. My flatmate watches youtube in my laptop as his one is slow!!!
But 3 advertises as it is faster than T-mobile.

Also I am paying only 5 pounds per month for 3GB download per month. I got this price as i just finished one year contract with them. They gave me discount of 10 pounds, what they are offering to new customers for 24 month contract.

The plus side with T-mobile is, I always go upto 7 GB per month and they have not charged me extra. So be careful with 3 network:roll:

ra - t-mobile and 3 are merging 3g networks, so there won't be any difference soon. Except for CS....

That's interesting. Hope the speed of T-mobile doesn't go down:thumbsup:

I spotted this deal myself just before seeing it posted here still its good deal so id vote hot
I have to agree with all bad remarks against Three's poor Indian Cs i used to be a Phone customer just over a year ago and found there Cs next to useless i found its a struggle to get someone to speak fluent English or they couldn't understand me and when i was lucky enough to get someone who could speak they'd just give me a scripted type responce's to any question
I have to say though that i did get a good receptition in most places so i was very happy with the network itself my only problems was the poor quality of the Cs and fact they only offered me a deal to renew worst than new customers was offered, Im now with T-mobile and find phone signal alot poorer on average than Three network.

Here is in my opinion an even nicer one with 7 GB monthly usage!
£12.50 a month for 18 month with £29 cashback

Thanks for the tip, very interesting!

I currently have subscribed to their £5/Month Unlimited scheme, but browsing on mobile is only allowed. I should say the browsing speed has been just awesome! The 1 GB plan for £5 is actually getting my interest..... but I am yet to confirm if I should go with present Unlimited surfing inside the mobile or 1 GB browsing on my PC/Laptop via the USB.

When the 18 months contract is taken, are we allowed the own the USB device? And whts the difference between While and the Black device? Features vary or is it just the colors?

Could someone suggest me if I should go for this.. I am comfortable with mobile unlimited surfing for £5/Month, but this deal is so hot, I am thinking of going with. I am presently a 3 Pay Monthly User, can I add any other offer to get more discount :whistling: ?

Cheers!

Can someone tell me if i could possibly plug this into the usb on my HTC Tytn II seeing as its a pocket pc as such?

Excellant deal. I got a PAYG usb 3 dongle just 4 months ago and had to pay £99.99 for it, then £15 to top up with 3gb/month... just gone for the 7gb/£12.50 a month, more than enough for me, will be able to watch plenty of youtube/iplayer etc.......great find, wouldnt have known about it without this site, thanxxxxxxxxxxxx O.P. ( System works great for me, here in Harrow, however the counter that shows up on your computer is unreliable, but the one through My3 website is very accurate, though takes about 1 hour or so to update apparantly)

When i had the £5 mobile add on i often used my phone as a modem and in my opinion they cannot detect that you are doing this as my data allowance always showed as ' no data usage this month'
I only went for the mobile modem as i wanted to use it on an Eeepc without windows and Nokia PC suite wont work with Lynux.

Which 3 modem is the best to go for - White, ZTE or standard?
