Nice find. I’m surprised that the price from Argos website for 3 is still £119.97. Is it a glitch ??
Worth adding Argos Deal is better than Tesco if you go through Vouchercodes to get £5 voucher on £35 spend...
Thanks heat added
This should go blazing. Was going to bite on the Tesco one but I've been hanging onto this £40 argos voucher from vouchercodes for too long now. Almost free after selling remote (already have). Lovely, thanks (:
I can't checkout on the 3 dots, each time gives an error. Very frustrating.
it was pretty easy, just added 3 and checked out.
You can control fire tv's from the echo devices now too!

This or Google?
I have checked if they have a deal on it yesterday and there wasnt yet. I have ordered from tescos then for delivery tomorrow. Do you know what? Had to cancel tescos orders and order from argos as will get 4x £5 voucher and can collect this morning. Hot!

Yeah, have tried multiple eBay and PayPal accounts.

I went to Argos themselves, they have the same offer on their site. You cannot get it to trigger automatically, but online support said to reserve the item and bring in a screenshot of the offer from their site and they will honour it.

What do people use Alexa for? Is it literally so you don’t have to pick up your phone and type?
Scorching deal anyway, heat added.

This or Google?

Look in to the differences. I got echo dot to play Spotify/TuneIn through a bluetooth speaker. From what I researched, with google you need a chrome cast audio I believe. (This May be wrong, but what I was lead to believe)
It is a good deal. I do wonder however if this is the end for this particular version.
Three times the pointlessness
I have one already. I expect Amazon to follow Google Home and allow you to call peoples actual numbers soon

- music playback
- hue light control
- setting timers/reminder
- basic unit conversions
- weather reports

I find it particularly handy in the kitchen or similar as I can stick on a discover playlist or similar on Spotify and let it play through that while I'm working and skip tracks I'm not interested or ask Alexa what track is playing if I don't recognise it. As well as being able to handle a few timers, the Echo will drop the music when the timer goes off so it doesn't get missed as it might with a separate one.

I will admit some of it is just being able to emulate star trek particularly with the light control but I still like it

Could do with 2 echos not 3. Yet to see a deal like this.

Hope not, its the most useful and only portable device of any echo they have done!

I also have it turning on off my TV, Sky Q, PS4, XBOX1, turning up and down volumes, changing SkyQ channel etc. Oh and when I tell Alexa goodnight, she turns everything off. She's so nice :P

What are you using to control the TV and entertainment systems? I saw Logitech had added a skill for it but seemed quite clumsy to use, is there something better now?

John
anyone having problems ordering? i just get "something went wrong" on ebay after trying to pay at the checkout

I use the logitech ultimate remote and hub. The skill has indeed a learning curve.
not sure why anyone would need 3... although I guess maybe as presents if the world doesn't have one already
Thanks op.
Now need to cancel my Tesco order as Id ordered the white one but prefer the black.

I was hoping they might have simplified it, do you still need to have something like ask logitech skill to switch TV off?

Quite a few of us have. You can get the same deal for the dots from Argos themselves, although you will have to take screen print of the offer for when you collect as it does not knock the money off automatically like it should.

Heating, water, phone calls, lighting (interior/exterior), books, stories for kids, family calendar, news, locations, tv control, media control, music and home security system so far
3x the private convos sent to secret government departments and sold to advertisers.

I used to have Siri enabled on my iphone and one night was talking to my Dad about how my car battery had failed, next day I had an email specifically about battery chargers.. 🤔... then something similar happened a week later. I’ve since disabled siri on all apple devices in my house.. just don’t trust what they’re doing as it has to constantly listen for activation.

You can setup Echo Routines to control Harmony Activities. Equipment functions for controlling volume etc is as you said.
Install Harmony skill (blue)
During linking Echo to Logitech assign the Harmony activity names to Tv channels or equipment etc.
The names you have chosen should appear in Echo app as Scenes.
Go to Routines and create what you want to happen according to what you say.
“+” > “when this happens”
“add action” > “smart home” > “control scene” > “bbc 1”
For example I have only to say;
Alexa, play Nintendo switch
Alexa, watch tv (defaults to channel you had setup)
Alexa, play records

best to substitute the word play, watch etc with something that isn’t one of Echo’s usual commands or you might find her playing songs or displaying videos etc. by mistake.

Presently, if you wish to amend the names you have given your Harmony activities you must delete the app and reinstall it.

I use mine to adjust my Netatmo thermostat, play songs from Spotify, switch on LED lights, play any radio station through Tune In etc.

I must be missing something, as I see no option in the routines to add simply actions like 'play radio 5' etc. Ideally wanted to have routine which stopped playing music and then disconnect from BT speaker, but either I am going blind or there is no native option.
