Not a fan of these as open tins react with air and can cause the contents to taste of metal. Transfer to a plastic container is best.
I agree and so does the science ( see half way down the attached) sadly I’ll probably get deleted again for “excessive use of facts”

Do the lids from some coffee tins fit the same too? I usually recycle those but might keep them from now on if they fit standard tins too?
They do indeed. If you buy Kenco Millicano, Nescafé Azera etc the lids are ideal for beans, dog food tins etc.

Opened tins should not be stored - contents should be transferred to another container, typically plastic.
    Why is that?

Great idea but you shouldn't keep cans in the fridge (empty into a plastic or glass container)
    So BAD idea then!

Always use a top from Pringles
I use Pringle tops on my cat and dog food tins.

If you buy Milicano or Azera style instant coffee (discount brands available), you can just keep those lids.

The white tops form little glass jars of Nutella fit tins perfectly too. So you get a free kids size glass and a tin cover along with your chocolate spread.
Excellent tip about reusing glass Nutella jars, might see if peanut butter jars can be reused with coffee can or Nutella lids. I'm all for avoiding both that metallic + plastic taste as well as the health hazard from tins (inc' from cheap BPA plastic liners of tins). Thanks

Wife is going to love that I leave 20% of the tin of beans in the fridge now, but that it will be covered!

Or free with many tins of coffee!

My cat's been using coffee tin covers on her pet food cans for years. The food is kept fresh and cans are pretty much airtight so no odour in the fridge 🐈‍⬛

Hold up, what’s the point of these? Everything I’ve ever seen in a tin tells you to transfer to a non metallic bowl once opened IE out of the tin. Otherwise a slither of cling film would do the job, and fit every tin.

only use these if you think have an iron/tin deficiency

Suitable for standard baked beans tins? :/
