Sounds like they're out of date.

What variety is this please? This looks like the one Mum used to have by her pond. Would love to get one like this.

To be perfectly honest with you, I have no idea. My sister bought it 10 years back. Sorry

It's a Palmatum EnaSharplesHairnet

Would this survive in the Scottish highlands?

I doubt it very much, you'd have more chance if you planted it in the ground though. They die off quick in cold weather unfortunately.

Thanks

I came here to make one but you put me off. I've taken a big hit to my self-confidence and may need to go into therapy. Hope you feel good about yourself.

It is my understanding that they are very tender and can be susceptible to strong winds, so select where you intend growing/keeping them carefully.

I also got an Acer from Tesco, half dead for a few quid... quick water and it came back to life and now looks amazing in my garden. Love the red color contrasting with all the green. Good deal, hot from me.

yes, wind, Sun, cold and water although the red ones need a bit of Sun to retain color.

As an Acer owner self confidence is always a problem, I sympathize with you.

I got one of these but had to take it back as the keyboard was missing...

If you are close to nts.org.uk/Pro…te/ yes.

We have had one for a number of years and this is on the east coast of Scotland, it doesnt like the wind much so if you planted in a sheltered spot it should be fine!

You can turn practically any tree into a Bonsai if you have the love, care and attention needed.

Looks good!

Do they have any newer ones?

Apple fan boys and gals seemed to have stayed away from this thread. Thank God!

OP you might want to change your title as Acer is Taiwanese not Japanese

Thanks.
