I've ordered from Banggood quite a lot and never been hit with customs, although I'm under the impression it's luck of the draw.
This will definitely get hit by customs as it's being shipped by DHL.

The cash back wont pay because there's a code involved.

Fair enough, I didn't realise. I'll take the cashback out the descripton.

No harm in trying mate. Nothing to lose. Similar or same deal has been posted a few weeks back. There were reports of cashback not tracking

Yes but the new props will fit the old model and hopefully reduce noise a little. Most appealing thing for me about the platinum is the ion battery that allows you to fly in colder temperatures. I'd rather have a £420+ discount on the fly more combo than the pros of the platinum.

I was thinking this exactly, they also use sinusoidal ESCs in the platinum which will help with efficiency and electrical noise which is how I imagine they got a bit of their flight time boost but I'd save and get the pro.

The battery has not changed and they are interchangeable with the current Mavic Pro as stated on the DJI Website. Where have you got this info from

Think I heard it on a YouTube comparison video. Guy seemed quite confident in what he was saying so I didn't really follow it up lol.

It's a good deal, even after tax but still a lot of money. When the platinum comes out I might get a pro if the price dips again. If I do get one it'll be second hand and not for a little while. I can't justify buying a 4k drone, it just wouldn't get enough use.

I ordered from Tomtop last night. It's £945 for the fly more combo (no codes needed) with 9% cashback from quidco.

I paid in dollars which brought it down to £885 all in no tax or customs. Went through TCB which offers 8.08% as I prefer them over quidco and would've got them to match quidco but the purchase tracked at £97.

If the cashback pays out thats £788 for the fly more combo. Which seems like a really good deal.

...?!? that's really good... I'm watching 2 second hand ones on ebay now looking like they'll go for about £750 so I might do what you've done.... hmmm

How was it cheaper to pay in dollars? Did you just comapre exchange rates from tomtop and paypal?

EDIT: And why is it no tax or customs?

No. Use a fee free card like revolut or monzo. The US version (just plug but they include uk cable) of the drone is $1149 which is around £877-880 with today's exchange rate. Cashback should give you a minimum of £70 back

On the page of the mavic they say they'll cover all taxes. They ship to Germany and then from there ship it to the UK. Read some of the reviews on their mavic page

I know we're going slightly massively off topic but I've just signed up for monzo and apparently I won't get my card for a while, do you know a good way I can get the USD price with no excahnge fee by tomorrow so I can get the better price on tomtop?

Think you'll have to find someone with a credit card that doesn't charge fees for paying in USD. Did you check Revolut? Their card is a digital one, might be quicker.

Have you got a link to the fly more combo? I cant see it.
ordered with PayPal via amex for extra cash back - comes out at 679£ currently, with 53£ TCB tracked
not in stock until October 1st

Let's pray for no customs charges and no other issues.
if all works out well could be brand new for around 600 which is amazing!!

Any thoughts from others? Any other way of getting cheaper?
Anybody received yet? Any customs or other fees? Thinking of ordering soon. Thanks
what guarantee do you get from Tomtop? Will it come with any warrenty in the UK? am interested in the Mavic at that price

Any DJI product that is imported has to be shipped to the country it is bought from for warranty. And they'll only ship it back to an address within that country

I bought the fly more combo from tomtop when it was on sale. Paid in dollars and it came to £882 with £97 tracking on TCB. No customs charges as stated on their website. With today's exchange rate, could've saved another £30 odd

And that's a killer for me given there's a fairly decent chance you'd need to take advantage of that warranty at some point..
