The most powerful production Golf yet, the 300 PS Golf R can be leased for a staggering £229.20 per month on this 6+23 month lease profile. Only 5,000 miles per annum, but if you've a short commute like me this is very tempting.

As it is a lease deal Road Tax is provided by the lease company.

This car retails at £30,555 and comes in Tornado Red. You can pay a little more for a different colour.

The 3dr (which looks better, yet is less practical) can be had for £1.20 per month more.

That is quite incredible, amazing value. But if you have one of these you should really *want* to be doing more than 5k miles a year. I was looking at getting this in 3 door guise or the Cupra 280 and would have jumped at this deal if it was at least double the mileage, but unfortunately that's almost double the price!

Looks like it would be a bit of fun, but with only a 5,000 mile allowance it won't last long.

At top speed you'll destroy your allowance in just over 32 hours driving oO

I agree - fantastic deal but totally wasted for a 5k per annum deal. Double the price then makes it no deal at all....

Colder than ice

You could just exceed the milage and pay about 5 pence per mile extra. Lets say you did double the mileage per annum, you'd be charged about £500 using their example. That's far cheaper than paying an extra £200 per month! Definitely worth checking out.

Good deal if you only need to pay 5p mile excess!

No chance it will be 5p a mile and you must also supply your own fully comp insurance. So add another 50-100 pound on top. This becomes less and less appealing

You mean you have to insure it?? Lol.

Excess mileage will be about 10p plus vat

Haha the insurance comment is silly, of course you have to insure it! There aren't many that would include the insurance with a deal like this.

Great deal!!

Such a big jump in price from 5k miles to 10k/15k... Shame... For a extra £40 a month for a 10k mile option is be all over this like a rash!

Saw this on Pistonheads and enquired about excess mileage. It's 6p + VAT per mile.

This deal is amazing for anyone considering a new Golf.

Ooookkk so just looking now and it seems there is a 8,000 mile option for the 3 door DSG and also the 5 door manual and it's only £20 a month more if that! If extra miles are 7.2p than an extra 2000 miles per year would only be £144 per year - this makes the deal seem much much better!

Heat added.

Almost 7k over 2 years and you can only drive 10.000 miles over the 2 year and this is getting hot votes?

I can't understand this either...

Buy a 2nd hand car for £6K, drive lots of miles, scratch it, dent it etc witnout penalty, sell it whenever you want and lose only £1-2K.

pistonheads.co.uk/cla…523

Hot deal...How much more would it be for a metallic paint option on the 5 door?

5k miles per annum? I got a 120miles round trip everyday

£70 per mile, do ppl actually pay this?

If you purchased the golf for £30,000 and sell after 2 years the depreciation is going to be about £7k or more anyway. Also it's about £300 for the extra 5k miles p.a.

All in all it's a decent deal. Shame about the October lead time for all the golf R's

patters1978

The other deal was 6p per mile making it £300 p.a for extra 5k p.a

This thread will go to hell if people keep trying to compare chalk and cheese.

No-one considering a new Golf R32 wants a ratty old one
No-one considering a Golf R32 really cares about cost-per-mile - it's a THIRTY GRAND GOLF - if you're that keen on Golfs, you'll pay whatever I guess but you'd like to pay a bit less if poss.

It would really be nice to see people on here using a bit of sense - comparing like with like at least?

It's a cheap deal for that car - this is a deal website - thus it's hot - end-of.

Great deal. Shame these leasing threads keep getting the idiots show up who don't understand leasing. If you are looking for a lease this is a good deal therefore it should be voted hot. If you want to buy a 2nd hand car and don't want a lease then don't just vote cold-you ruin the concept of this site.

It's 70p per mile, not £70!

I've got the S3 - cracking engine! So if you get one of these your in for a treat.
Edited by: "jbmnic" 10th Jun 2014

So, the car is never yours.? You just borrow to drive. That's cool. I do the same here. Sort of.... no paperwork, no bills from the type that rent these.

5k per annum mileage, like buying a new state of the art smart phone with a 500mb allowance.

Great car.

Now if only that was 10k, not 5k.... If only.

It will only be 5p per mile for the first 1500 miles, after that it goes up massively, every car lease company does that!

Its Golf R not Golf R32. You cant get a new R32. It has a 2.0 Turbo engine not a 3.2 V6.

Not a deal that would interest me as on a good day I may get to the speed limit. But considering how much an S3 or a 135i costs to lease its hot from me.

They can take a running jump off a big cliff if they think I'm paying £7k for a motor for two years that I'll be worried to use for the sake of going over 5000 miles....

No, no they don't.

No, but you should pay £70 for a calculator

Nice motor!!

Conflicting info on the excess mileage. Does anyone know how much it is for this specific deal?

Best to specify with the DSG box....

Previously they had the R on the same deal but with maintenance included, so didn't matter what you did to the tyres, free replacements!

This is still a good deal...

Yes it does, if you ruin them on purpose you aren't covered.
