Feel At Home

What is feel at home?

On holiday we reckon you should be able to top up your tan and your Instagram. That's why we're helping you to Go Roam around the world without splashing any extra cash in places like the USA and Australia. We've already set up your phone, so you're free to get up, get out and #holidayspam in 60 destinations around the world from June 2017. Keep data roaming on and use your data, and call and text back to the UK, just like you do at home. So go on, get out of airplane mode, and into holiday mode. Now that is the feeling of roaming the world at no extra cost. Go Roam.

Now in 50 destinations including USA, Australia, Germany, Portugal, Greece and many more. For a list of current destinations where customers can Go Roam, see below.

From 15 June 2017 we’ll be adding the following destinations: Brazil, Singapore, Aland Islands, French Guiana, Guadeloupe, Martinique, Réunion, Saint Barthélemy, Saint Martin and San Marino.

That's more destinations where you can use your phone abroad at no extra cost than any other UK mobile network.

Personal Hotspot.

Share your phone’s internet with other devices such as tablets and laptops. This can be really handy when you’re away from a WiFi network. You can use all of your data allowance as a personal hotspot unless you’ve chosen a plan with All-you-can-eat data in which case you can use up to 30GB of this each month as a personal hotspot allowance in the UK.

Don't forget the potential £70 TCB on top of this..
I went with 3 last time they had a decent cashback offer. Worst phone call quality ever. I can barely hear a single word. EE is much better. 3 suck.
Any update on TCB. Is it tracking and confirming?
good price. network, well, not as solid!
I quoted the three deal to ee retention and they offered unlimited mins and text. 30gb data 12months bt sport for £20.99 a month for 12 months. 3s speeds are very slow in comparison to ee.
I bought this plan a few weeks ago and love it. I don't have broadband where I currently live and I can watch anything I want using 3's 4G. Speeds are decent and the whole 30GB can be used as a hotspot. You can also pay £5 more for an addon if you use all your data in the current month to get unlimited data which another 30GB is usable via hotspot meaning with the addon you get a total of 60GB to use as a hotspot and unlimited 4G on your device...

All in all, a bargain and I am really happy
Got unlimited minutes/texts and 30GB data for £15/month, agreed yesterday as a renewal deal.

FYI feel at home is only included with advance plans (which these are), but from 15/6/17 all customers (including essential plans) will be able to use their allowance in all EU countries without charge (but not non-EU countries included in feel at home e.g. USA, New Zealand etc).
Would this be available in store?
Went into 3 store Beaumont Leys Leicester as my wife's phone kept saying no service thinking it was her phone.. the guys couldn't check her sim in another phone because ... they don't get any signal in their store. They have to walk 100 yards to get a signal, cost me £70 to get out of contract and go to another provider with a signal .... 3s not good, at least not where I live ... haven't had a problem since changing provider
So, what we're discovering in this deal (and many others) is that network signal varies from location to location.

We have learnt a great deal ;-)

Personally I was scarred by prior experience with Three (when they used to only deal in Superdrug stores) and their CS outsourcing; are their support agents still India based?

I signed up to 20GB Vodafone today, unlimited calls/SMS, with 12 months Spotify Premium (12 month SIMO) for £21 on retention. Personal preference though I'd rather have gone to EE.

How long is the BT Sport for? The length of the contract?

yeah 12months.
I purchased this contract a few weeks back and Quidco has tracked at £60. I'm paying £16 a month as I have an existing pay & go sim and clicked on the existing customer offers link.

When I go to the upgrade page it shows £24 and not £18 for the 12 month plan

Yes their CS is still India based and utterly useless and annoying IME. Showed me no customer loyalty for a 5+ year customer.

Like any deal on here there are always going to be those who say they have unbelievable deals.

Broadband, mobile, train travel and air travel - it's all a racket that is heavily subsidised by the tax payer. Which is why Branson has his own island and hasn't personally paid a penny in tax in the UK for over 40 years....

Strange, as Three and EE share masts in places.

Three has very less mobile bandwidth compared to EE because the Chinese man who owns won't spend on bandwidth. He wanted to buy O2 but now it has been declined. So if there are many users like in London you won't still get fast download speed or line quality as the bandwidth is shared among users and there is scarcity of it.

Just to add for help after about half an hour per call over two days ended up with essential plan 4GB unlimited mins and text (not that text is really the thing nowadays) for £11 per month 30 day rolling contract. Just buying time after having a £32 per month contract with unlimited everything on advanced plan with 8GB hot-spot and a HTC ONE M9 (_;) I should add the wink is for buying time.

Been looking for Live Chat but cannot find it. I have passed my 12 months minimum term as of 1st May 2017 so I should be legible

EDIT: On Live Chat now and they have said I must call them to Upgrade

I had the opposite experience ee is by far the worst phone company i have ever used. Most of the west of scotland uncovered. Central Edinburgh patchy and where i lived hopeless. Switched after a month. 3 has 4g pretty much wherever i go

lol why I left voda.
They can't even get 4g in their own store in Beaumont Leys.
If you go into Tesco you lost all phone signal on voda.
Three's 4g is probably the worst unless youre up past 1.30 in the morning. Its below average. Their 3G aint all that either

To upgrade you have to call them but to change your plan you don't have to. Not sure what the difference is tbh. The changing of plan doesn't start a new contract. You just get your new allowances from you next bill date. I've done it twice already.

Was that via retentions? I'd much prefer that to the deal I got (unlimited minutes/texts and 30GB data for £15 but essential plan).

Also if I'm on an essential plan, does that mean they'll charge me for any data I try to use via hotspot (i.e. laptop hooked up via WiFi), it won't come out of my allowance?

No retention. Just a change of plans. I just went on live chat and asked if there were any other deals with more date they could put me on and I was offered the above.

Essential plans don't allow tethering so no hot spot. I don't think your phone will even allow you to turn hotspots on if you're on that plan. Thats how it works on the iPhone.

I'm sure if I asked, I could've got the same plan with 600mins for a pound more.
Could this sim be used in a MiFi device and 100% feel abroad in Ireland?
Or do I not need a mifi? Just use personal hotspot for kids iPads? Advice appreciated

Not sure about the Ireland part of the question but you can use your data as a personal hotspot from your phone and connect the iPad to it. It's what I use it for when driving

Thanks for the advice. They didn't make the hot-spot thing clear, that's a problem. Amazing that you've got such a good deal when I spent over an hour on the phone battling for my inferior retentions deal! Back on the phone tomorrow then...

Im not sure if it's because I'm wanting something that requires me to pay more. I started off on a £9pm contract then changed to a £10pm and now £11.
I have a legacy plan from 2012 - 300 min, 5000 txt, Unlimited data (no tethering) with Feel At Home. I'm paying £20/month for this. I tried getting an upgraded phone on the same contract a few months back, but they wouldn't offer me one as they don't offer the unlimited data plan anymore. Should I:

A - cancel the above plan and take out a new SIM+Phone contract
B - keep the SIM and buy a new 1-2 year old model phone

Three UK state these three things on their web site for Roam while at home, all of which EE permit, which you may find interesting:

1. If you have all-you-can-eat data you can use up to 12GB roaming. If you have all-you-can-eat texts you can send up to 5,000 texts. If you have 3,000 or more minutes included in your allowance you can use up to 3,000 minutes.

2. You can't use your phone as a personal hotspot (tethering) while you're abroad.

3. You can’t use your minutes allowance to make calls to local or other international numbers, as you can only use your inclusive minutes to call UK numbers, whether you’re in the UK or a Feel At Home destination.
When people say speeds are slow, how slow are they talking? I just tested in central-ish manchester with 1 bar of 4G and got 13mbit down, 19 up. Not American levels of awesome but youtube has no issues.
terrible coverage in London. when we complained they admired it and gave us no termination fee. that's after speaking to India for 2 hours repeating to be put through to someone in England.**** service ever. good riddance to them
