Is this an error or are cex stupid?

Bought not brought

Yes, you bought it and when you were at CEX you had brought it along to sell to them

nope not an error they do it with all new technology that is sold out in shops because people go in there and pay more than rrp because they want it on release date

Spending all that just to make £31

Could spend that and sell it on ebay where the idiots are paying a grand for the thing. Still don't see the appeal for the phone myself, but if you want to make profit, that's where to do it.

and also because people tend to exchange a lot of hardware for them as well so CEX get extra stock to sell. they've done it every year for the past couple of years.

I got mine for £789

what spending 619 quid to get 31 profit aint worth it u name me a bank account that will give you that much 5% interest in 7 days

buy 4 and make £124 quid atleast

CEX isn't worth it. I remember when I bought a new iPhone 5 and tried selling it to them, after molesting it for 40 minutes, they said they don't have enough money. Went to the other CEX store and they wanted to molest (test) it again, even though it had been tested by another CEX 20 minutes ago and had the sticker to prove so on it. Then they asked for a receipt that has the serial number on it. The receipt didn't have a serial number on it so I went to the internet cafe to make and print one, then I managed to get the cash.

Doing all that for £31 profit is a fail. It's gonna be hard enough to get hold of one never mind the hassle best thing to do its slam it on eBay where you will get £200+ profit maybe more £300 even because the damn phone will be sold out everywhere

Warning Beware CEX expect you send them within some days for the buy price to be honoured. They can also reduce the buy price anytime if your intention is buy for selling.

Hassle for £31 profit? Take this to MSE. They'd be up for it even for a £1 profit.

Well now cex have bacs transfer it's well easy. take in sealed iphone to cex (several in my case) book them in and tell them to transfer you the money when they have tested the phone. It's a win win no need to carry £1000+ no need to wait for them to test. you just get paid within 3 working days. simples. Only problem I have is to how long I hold out out as I think the 6 plus price will go up more than £30 a unit.

Yeah, take in a new sealed iPhone to Cex for them to say "We need to test it" For them to open it, downgrade it to B or C grade, despite it being brand new. For them to give you less money for it so the members of staff can keep the phone for themselves....Thiefing pirates!!

Stupid money spinning scheme. Can easily end up out of pocket due to CEX stupid procedures

You are assuming they pay out this amount, only ever took one phone in to them, they advertised to give £40 for the phone, when I took it in they made me feel like a scrubber trying to flog rubbish. The guy in the shop said the keypad was faulty, it was a brand new phone?, anyway never dealt with them since,

Not worth the time and effort. "Think Different"

hate auto spell check

best thing to do is pre-order and when they sold out put on eBay, then you will be able to make some profit.

Question is if you wait a few days they may pay more

Or more likely lower the buy price but push up the sell price

Sold three mobiles to CEX in the past and always received the full grade A amount.

The paying by BACs system works well for CEX as 9 times out of 10 they will have sold your handset (for a profit) before they have even sent you the money.

Not worth the effort for £31 pounds

Sell on eBay, get scammed and end up with nothing.
At least Cex won't scam you on day one of release.

Thanks to ebay's scammers protection.

Must say I would rather eat a dry rivita whilst watching a freshly creosoted fence dry and reading a copy of now than spend time with the great unwashed in CEX trying to save money

You may not get as much as you do on eBay but it is less risky to just sell it to Cex.

Agreed sent my used iPhone 3g years ago to them. The muppets kept it for two months before returning it without a reason. I reckon it's because the price they offerred me was too high. Meanwhile the prices went down because the slow coaches took so long. Joke of a company

Or use google to find the eBay calculator?
