yes its not one of the big brands but its got good reviews, and yes it £10 more than the sainsburys one = sainsburys.co.uk/sol…429
but ths IS FULL HD MANNN, its a revolution
looks pretty decent spec too, anyone got one of these? would like to hear what you think as i cant choose between this and the sainsburys one right now as full hd is tempting but nothing i have(including my xbox) has hdmi?
what's got the better tech specs? as i cant understand view ratios and contrast and view ratios n stuff!

Pretty good reviews

from looking at specs side by side the argos has a better Resolution 1920 x 1080 pixels. comapred to sainsburys 1366x768. which is a given i guess. same contast ratio but argos has a Brightness of 410cd/m2. while the sainsburys one has 450cd/m² so abit better
argos connectivity:
3 HDMI sockets.
2 SCART sockets.
PC input socket.
Component video socket.
Composite.
S-Video socket.
AV socket (rear).
DC socket (rear).
1 USB port.
sainsburys connectivity:
has 1 less hdmi and the same as the argos i think (cant copy and paste specs)

plus the argos one has better speakers but is the viewing angle any good?
Viewing angle 178/178 degrees.

Cheapest price I've ever seen a 32" 1080p set for, good spot.

this cheeky git is trying to sell refurbs for more than a new one! avoid!

its also in alot of random online tv stores for around the same price if you dont like argos

Bought this 6 months ago for £279! Brilliant TV. Plays AVI files off USB Harddrive!

Well worth the money!

Arris, the viewing angle is good.

What is the guarantee on this? What would be the cheapest way of extending this if it is short? thanks

Original Poster

12 months i think mate, you can extend it to 3yrs for £74, but at this price range i would rather risk it breaking

I got one from morrisons for £199.99 - absolute bargain!

total bargain

So does the Argos one play Avi Files?

Thanks reserved one hot3

Great Price if you dont want extended warranty. If you do, you're better off buying the 32" Sony Bravia with Freeview HD for £299.99 from the Sony Centre as it comes with a free 5 year warranty.

Really tempted by this, I have £150 argos vouchers from doing surveys I've been saving and I just want a basic TV, anything 32" upwards..... just wondering if there will be better deals from Argos in the next week or two and to hang on to see if there is anything bigger. Also, what does anyone make of those 32" dvd combi's? Are they worth getting or should I just get a seperate DVD player? I don't have Sky and it's just for the basic stuff....

Original Poster

im unsure about the avi files mate, all i know is it plays most files apart from mp3. on the argos prices theyre usually quite average and this price endds on the 3rd, so i think the prices will go up again with the vat inrease aswell on the 4th. personally i would get a ps2, xbox or a cheap dvd player serparatly, it will end up cheaper plus you van upgrade to bluray later

@greavsey: when did you get one from morrisons? il have a gander if that deal is still going

IIRC the £199 32" LCDs at Morrisons are just HD Ready 1366 x 768 sets, this on the other hand is full HD 1920 x 1080

I reserved one of these at Argos, picked up today. got for my elderly parents to replace their out of date tv. All up and running in no time and they are thrilled with it. lovely picture, easy to use and a plus that it has 2 scart sockets.bargain!

Brilliant deal of course, but just in case anyone missed it, (posted over xmas) there's a 40" 1080p with USB for £299 at Sainsbury's:

Does anyone have a Sky remote code for this TV?

thats a brilliant deal and if your looking for the best value for money, thats it!
shame my budget just cant stretch that far it would look ridiculous in my room anyway haha

Don't get this TV! I went through two. Both had dead pixels and dead spots. The IR receiver for the remote is rubbish, the TV kept cutting out and going blank both when watching TV and playing xbox, and it froze a few times and none of the buttons would respond so have to turn it off at the wall..add an extra £70 and go for a Samsung or something of the like.
