My 23" died last week and been toying with the idea of a 32" telly as a replacement. If my local actually gets these in, very tempted with that 3 year warranty. Wonder who actually makes these?

Guess is they are made in Slovakia or Turkey by a company called Vestel. They make tv's for many supermarkets and brand under many names.

Just a guess!!!!! vestel.com.tr/glo…tml

OK for use as a PC monitor (although the lag will probably be terrible)...but if you are using this as a TV, just spend a little more and grab a TV with fairly decent picture and sound quality. An LG isn't the best in the world, but certainly worth the £50 step up if you can afford it

Make sure you keep the receipt, especially if it is "Silvercrest".

You probably won't get the full HD resolution with a VGA cable. If your video card has a DVI out socket, you can use a DVI-to-HDMI cable from Amazon to get HD display from your computer.

it is a "Silvercrest" just checked the brochure

Just remember that after 1 year lidl make you deal with the Manufacturer as I found our recently with a power tool.

The Reaction time (ms): 8 which is enough for most use. Human being is rarely able to tell the difference between 2 to 8ms.

These won't be available at my local, i've just checked the lidl site

I'm using a Tevion 32" as a computer monitor (from Aldi 3 year warranty) Had it nearly a year now.....Lag is nothing to worry about..... Go for it ...But keep yer Receipt......;)

8ms in theory should give > 120FPS which is double of 60FPS limit, I couldn't see why we need anything below?

Wouldn't a set with a 3ms response time be better for watching fast moving sport than one with 8ms?

Maybe if yer a pro gamer .....which i doubt most aren't .......oO

Gamers....yawn..

I haven't seen a single HD ready TV that can't be used as a computer monitor - Even the bush I have in the bedroom which is a really budget HD-ready 27" LCD has VGA and HDMI!

the line "watch some digital tv in full HD! " Makes it sound like it has Freeview HD, which I don't think It does - Could be misleading.

I would go with what DM24 said and get an LG or toshiba regaza - better picture quality and still in the budget price range.

I have a Silvercrest from Lidl which has a problem with the pic it's as if the screen has all the colour drained out of it and results in the picture looking "Ghosty" so I gave them a call and was surprised to hear the operator say they would replace with a new one, someone is to call me tomorrow about it, not really worried as I bought a power washer from Aldi and they replaced it no problem when it developed a fault, and guess who uplifted it and brought the replacement Karcher, so maybe the tv's are from a well known brand as well, I know I mention Aldi here but I find if one of these do a product on their specials then sure as not the other will be doing a similar product either in the next week or a couple of weeks later are they one and the same I wonder ?

No they are not, they are totally different companies.

good price for a 1080p 32"

regardsless of the make

not everybody plays games and watches dvd's

some people have a TV just for watching programmes that are broadcast

I'm after a 32 inch telly for me son's Xmas box, it will be used mostly for his X=box gaming, plus watching football via sky, what should I be looking for?

Does this have freeview?

This is true, but surely people who just watch Freeview want a decent enough picture and sound quality with a light hint of bass and mid?

Just because you are not gaming or watching DVD's doesn't mean you still want to sacrifice the two most important aspects of any broadcast, picture and sound?

That's a big assumption for this forum, how about trolls?

Thanks to Geo77 for clearing that up, always wondered about that, as Argos and Homebase are the same company, I know this for sure as I had ordered goods from the Argos Catalogue, but the receipt for the goods was a Homebase receipt when they were delivered.

Hd ready 720 and Toshiba brand, that is official and that is because I work for them and we recieved our allocation today.
I work in the number 1 store in Scotland and we received only 5 instore today, so if you want to get 1 either try to pre book 1 or get down to the store at 8am.

BTW nowhere does it say that it is ....."Full HD 1920 x 1080p for stunning high definition picture quality at a fantastic price! "

It simply says..."Stunning high definition picture quality at a fantastic price!"

This product is not 1080p, it is HD READY 720
AND IS TOSHIBA.

And you can quote me on that as I actually work for lidl.

Has This Got Built In Freeview ??????

i looked on the lidl website and it says silvercrest . it even say it on the actual t.v????????????

It seem pretty clear people are talking at cross purposes on this thread.

If you select Copenhagen Way Norwich as your store you'll see the Silvercrest TV on offer and it does indeed say 'Full HD 1920 x 1080p for stunning high definition picture quality at a fantastic price!' in the description.

If you select a store in most other parts of the country you'll either see the Toshiba TV instead or no TV on offer at all.

ClashInDevon

viewing angle makes me think its maybe an ips panel, in which case its a great deal if the latency isnt too crappy

Or if you live in East London you see both TVs.

Fizzy2734...is this the same TV? (On the lidl site it says 32k500B).
reevoo.com/p/t…500

If it is seems like a good deal to me 8.9/10.

I have heard that the telly's near me wont be in store until Thursday.

P.s Where would be the best place to purchase good wall mounts..any idea's to best quality? Thankyou

Slightly interested in this just due to the fact it has TWo Scart sockets. TV's these days so rarely come with them. Is there a review anywhere?
It's the sound quality I'm most interested in.

Neil if this is the same tv then my above post has reviews on reevoo site...

most games dont do 1080p and even sky hd isnt 1060p either .... i dont know what your budget is , but assuming its on the low side the one thing look for if watching footy is that the tv does 100hz ... you tend to get motion judder otherwise with fast moving sports. if you need more info just ask
