i got the 23inchtv/dvd for £79 and teh Senseo coffee maker - they also had samsung tab 3s for 99 and Kindles for 49...i got up there just before 7 expecting it to be packed and it was empty! the manager told me to take the tv and just not go through the till until 8...as i left about 810 they were just putting the prices out. i think theyve left this a bit late to be fair!

Original Poster

Thanks for the extra details wolfout it was my first post, I could have done it better.

what makes the 23" tv?

Blaupunkt or something...its for the spare room so it didnt bother me too much!

Just telephoned the local tesco at scunthorpe to check if they have any of the tvs left and they are unable to walk over and check for you. Did not waste my petrol going to check myself

I bought this technika 32" and the 39" samsung

I picked up a 32" Technika today. I thought the sound was very poor and the picture terrible. Taking it back tomorrow.

Scart lead

Heat added for the price

I bought a 32 technika last time they were at this price, very poor quality picture unless your on HD and even then its not that good.

harmonial

Scart lead

Is that sarcasm or did you really use scart? If so the picture will be terrible no matter what tv you use.

Walked out with last 32inch at 10am Scunthorpe, was asked on way out to show receipt, them told it was 'fine' .....!!!!!excuse me, don't you mean sorry !

Parents bought the 23" today - had plenty of all the TVs on offer at around 11am. Pic quality good I thought

I bought Samsung 39 inch telly. SD picture is really below the standard. HD is fine. I am taking it back to store tomorrow to get a refund. My 3 year old telly represents better picture quality and sharpness...

Glad I didn't buy it now.

I had a look at the display one, but of course they are using a blue ray to show it off.

How was the sound ? Didn't seem that great, but was hard to tell in store

Of course they are going to use a blu ray, they are designed to display HD media, not SD.

None of these tvs are going to have great sound, its simply not possible in such a slim form factor.

I am looking to replace a 32" LG that has great sound (for a TV) it has two 10w speakers in it, Most televisions come with two 7w speakers or so. This "Technika" TV is great on the price point but I bet it doesn't match that LG in terms of quality (still might take a drive to Tesco to look at it), if it isn't gone within an hour).

The televisions should be fine displaying anything up to their max resolution, some upscale worse than others, but a budget television is going to likely do a poor job at upscaling. My Samsung TV (40" 2006) still looks better than a lot of the budget screens out there, the Audio on it however is a major letdown.

Best thing to do is go to the TV when your in the store and turn up the audio, see what it sounds like. The HD picture should be great as "usually" stores will use a good source to show off the televisions. It is also important to see that the television has all of the buttons you need to switch modes and enter menu's, I only say this because I have a older (2007) 38" Hansspree that requires the remote to switch inputs!(ugh)...

It is also worth stating that The Tesco flyer says it has a integrated DVD player, but the website says it doesn't.

My post was related to the poster talking about the Samsung 39" tv. I haven't said anything about the Technika other than ask the question what source was used when one poster said the picture quality was terrible.

The sound is surprisingly good. Compared to my old Sharp it is definitely better.

I knew they used blu ray to show it off, but most of the channels I watch are still SD. That bugs me really... It is not acceptable that the new 2013 TV cannot meet the standards set by 2011 Sharp... By the way, Sharp costed 250 quid too...

Went to Tesco Extra in Leeds last night. Unsurprisingly they were sold out.

Does anyone know how much the Samsung 39inch is going for?

i was just messing, i never bought the tv, neither would i use a scart lead and complain about bad quality if i did, i have my finger firm on the pulse of this technology game

Anyone know of any good deals on a 32'' every time one comes up there always seems to be something wrong with it.

Thanks

you get what you pay for
buy cheap buy twice

good tv for sons room. has vga and built in freeview. only issue is 50hz.

hot cheers me deers Merry Christmas to all hukd Thank You

Merry Christmas to you too buffylass.
Have owned this tv for nearly a year and it has been fine. It lives in the kid's playroom and is a decent tv for the price, especially when you consider if wall mounting it you'll be hard pushed to get a stand for less than £20.

Only good enough for the bedroom really. Good price for that.
My boys have one and it's too slow

I'm tempted at this price but not really watching TV a lot

I have this tv in my room, picture is decent considering the price but the speakers are terrible

They all sold out on Friday. If your store has one your very lucky

These deals are never in our store in warrington

Great price for a second tv.

got the one with the built in dvd player for the same price
