Great deal for a decent wine. Considering most deals are 3 for 10 (or 3.33 a bottle), this really is nice.

ASDA describes it as: "Full-bodied wine, bursting with red berry and blackcurrant flavours. Ideal with red meat like lamb and beef, or with pasta dishes, and it can also be enjoyed on its own."

Very hot!!!

Do you know what price it was originally?
Thanks

This is not the usual price (£5.99). Refer to mysupermarket:

This is not a cold deal unless you only buy nice bottles of wine. Anyone care to elaborate why they are voting cold? Chilean 13.5% for this price are difficult to find. And it really isn't all too bad.
Seems good to me
good price
This is a very good quality everyday wine. You would perhaps spend more for a special occasion, but at this price it's a steal.
I need to get a few crates of red for my wedding. I dont drink it and none of my friends do. I think its only my aunities that do. None of them are wine snobs, do you think this will be ok?
The Gran tierra Cabernet sauvignon carmenere is showing at the same price but rolled back from £7.48. Is that a better wine/ better deal?
might want to change the link - it searches for "36 degrees south" instead of 35
As previously said this is a very good every day drinkable wine. At this price in todays market I would say its a very Hot deal. Wine snob's may find it hard to drink a bottle of wine that cost's them £2.48 but give them the same wine and charge them premium price and they will be happy. This is a very drinkable wine at a very good price.
I'd love to challenge all so-called wine buffs to a blind taste test. (IME they really are never keen to do such a thing) Did it with a mate who used to go on and on about expensive wine and he picked out a box of red plonk from Asda as his favourite. He doesn't go on so much these days....

This is a good deal. It's red, it's come all the way from from Chile, it's 13.5% and it's cheap. Nuff said.

I'm a bit of a snob when it comes to wine - you can't go wrong with this Chilean though!

(Can't be too careful)
Chilean Cabernet Sauvignon is normally a safe bet. Hot from me.

It would do - look out for corkage though!

Highly unlikely as this comes as a screw top.

One of the main benefits of screw tops is the massive reduction in the chance of the wine becoming "corked". See link.

This is a cracking deal - they also have the 35 degrees south sauvignon blanc at £3.98 which is a bargain as its normally around £6+

I'd be interested to know about this too. RRP is apparently £8.99 according to mysupermarket.

I went for 24 of these instead. Bargain even with £3 delivery. If its rubbish it can be used for cooking, mulled wine or drank when already out of head oO

The corkage comment I am guessing was referring to the extra charge a hotel will make for bringing your own wine to a function and not using their own over priced wine. It would be worth checking with the hotel what they will charge...

I've had both, and my preference was for the 35 South; it seemed a bit more bold and rich. I believe the alcohol percentage is higher on the 35 South as well, but I cannot find anything supporting this vague recollection.

I think by corkage he meant the price the venue will charge me just to chill, open, serve and disspose of the wine. And rightly so, its £6 per bottle for corkage! Horribly expensive, but I cant get around it. It was meant to be £8.50 but I haggled. Their house wine is £15 PLUS VAT, and i doubt they will be using high quality stuff. So I worked out as long as I can get my wines for £3 a bottle, sparking wine (i.e Asti Rose i like) for £5 a bottle and bucks fizz for roughly £2.50 a bottle ill save about £450 quid. I am literally relying on this website over the next year to find good wine deals. So any white, or rose or sparking deals let me know. Im all good for red now :). Got some on that naked wines thing at new year too.
BTW is this a limited time offer or just their new price? If i want more in a week or so will it probably de double the price?

Also i tried to add the Gran Tierra Cabernet sauvignon carmenere and it said not in stock.

2 for £9 at Bargain booze so deffo a good price at Asda. 'Only' 12.5% though so using park bench value for money criteria the wine in the OP wins!

still there for me
my order has a tick on allow substitutes. It is my first ASDA order. What is the likelihood of the wine I have ordered being substituted for some **ss that is only worth 2.48?

R.
The "raved about" Chilean Rioja in Lidl for £3.99 is probably nicer!
not available in my store . bloomin typical, love this!
You can only order 6 at a time?

Just untick the allow substitutes, if you are not happy with any substitute just give them back to the driver

That's funny I hate Dr Pepper but find this wine quite Quaffable... certainly better tasting than some others I've tasted that were considerably more ...
