Looks a great deal for 30 day rolling contract. My BT contract is up and don't have BT broadband anymore. Can anyone beat this deal?

I got 10GB Data, 300 Mins, Unlimited Texts on a 1 month rolling contract for a tenner with ID Mobile who use Three's network if you don't need the minutes for £2 extra this is better I.M.O.

But don't ID Mobile have a terrible reputation of screwing up your account?
I've read some terrible reviews on them.

I've never had a problem with them in 2 and a half years and I've upgraded my sim only deal 3 times with them. You only hear about bad experiences with a company you rarely hear about good experiences.

I had ID mobile before and had no issues but I probably need more then 300 minutes and I don't think you can tether with ID

For you the Plusnet deal is better.
Direct from plusnet u get 4gb data unlimited text & 1500min calls for £9 u also can get £9 topcashback for keeping contract for 60 days further more if you are customer u get 5gb data & unlimited mins upgrade for free using mates rates. Tethering is also allowed with ur allowance on all plans I'm not sure if you will get the TCB if you chose mates rates option. Just saying.

I switch from plusnet to o2due to poor quality connections
That SmartCap is a marketing jargon. Basically a auto cap on the price at £10 which can go as low as £2 but not Zero.

If you signed up, changed your plan or upgraded on or after 29 November 2016, we automatically set it to £10, but you can make it as low as £2. Or you can make it higher. To do that, get in touch with us.”

Plusnet have no App to monitor data usage, bit of a farce in 2018
As far as I can tell, Plusnet still don't support short codes, so if you get a text from your bank/CC/doctor/whatever asking for a response, you're kinda screwed

FWIW my bank and other CC provider ask me to text back on a "normal" number, so maybe not such the big deal you are making it out to be.

In fact I cannot think of ANY time where I "needed" to reply to a short code - yes, it is a bit annoying when I want to give a tenner to some telethon type thing, but, meh...
I phoned virgin media n they offered me 2GB 4G data 500 minutes & unlimited text for £5/- a month (12 month contract)

I've got this deal from a previous time it was offered. Billing, coverage, pricing, included days and minutes are all good. I don't like that my signal seems to cut out more regularly in crowded environments than other people's phones - like a football crowd or busy train. I'm sure there must be some arrangement where ee customers are prioritised...

I dunno man. When a person's credit card company asks them to confirm a transaction by short code or face losing use of the card, I think they'll consider it a big deal
Great for the kids!!

That’s due to lack of 800mhz coverage. You get this on Ee but not Plusnet. It’s not an issue for me, but can affect reception in crowds, indoors etc.

It's a good deal...if you get it without a hitch!
Good luck switching to them. It took 15 days for them to import my PAC code, and nobody could give me a clue as to why!! They just told me after my daily phone call, that it should be done by tomorrow....each day!! CS are really lovely in their manner, but totally useless at actually solving a problem. I left the day I finally got my number back.

From my experience what I have found with these MVNO's is that they are fine until you get into a hitch. This is why we pay a lot less than the the main mobile network operators. Like you say CS are not always bad when dealing with general issues but they are very limited to what they can do to resolve a technical issue instantaneously.

If you're an existing Plusnet broadband customer, you can get a similar package for the same price but with Unlimited minutes instead of 3000. I was already on the 3.5 GB/2000 mins £8 so have switched over. Thanks OP!
Have had quite a few connection issues with Plusnet over the past month or so. Unable to make or receive any calls for a couple of hours on Tuesday afternoon.
Not too shabby

... or if you don't need a 2G signal as a backup when Three's network inevitably lets you down. Personally, I'd rather have a signal than no signal.

They will increase the data to 4GB and unlimited minutes if you call them rather than use uSwitch.

I have never had any signal issues here in Bolton, I can't speak about other locations, I get a full 4G signal in Bolton and surrounding areas including Manchester City Centre and surrounding towns.
What's the best sim only plan for EU and USA roaming? Data a priority over calls. £10 budget PCM
I'm with plus net atm but having data issues, 4gb used to last me just fine with giffgaff but I'm burning 5gb in 3 weeks with plus net I did complain and got a retention deal of unlimited mins n texts and 6gb data for £10/month but don't think it's enough just seems to burn for some reason

I had this issue on Smarty. The signal just wasn't there a lot of the time.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say your "data burn" issues are 100% nothing to do with Plusnet...

Clearly some app you are using (knowingly or not) is using data.
Been through literally every single background app and disabled anything I don't use, the screen lock monitor catches nothing obvious my apps haven't really changed in the last God knows how long

So you get more data etc if you are paying more money no surprise there. You can pay less and get less data
