If you play a low number of games or have a bulk hard drive then fair enough. However I don' tthink there's any point of this just for slightly better load times on games on your xbox. I' ppersonally grab a 3tb Toshiba P300 7200RPM drive which will be of more practical use.

I already have a 2TB 7200RPM hard drive for the majority of my games but as I'm running on OG Xbox One i'm looking for an SSD to improve loading times etc on a a couple of my more frequented games, including PUBG which appears to benefit from a better hard drive.

Sweet, thanks.
SOLD OUT.
Performance is okish.. These are DRAM less drives so these are only good for MS Office and browsing work. If you start coping large files it'll slow down considerably. 400/275 R/W when benchmarked. I have 180gb version.

Great price on paper for the size
I had the 128GB version (at £31.44, so this is a good price) of this but returned it because my Dell laptop didn't recognise it. It was fine in another laptop but not the Dell, for some strange reason.

Really amazing price for this amount of storage! Maybe it isn't the fastest but I find with SSDs it doesn't really matter much. I have had comparatively cheap/budget SSDs and a fairly high end one and I can tell very little between then, they are all a big step up over a conventional mechanical HDD, which is surely what matters...
I've installed nine of these KingSpec SSDs over the last year (the 128GB & 180GB versions). For work they are as fast as any other and no problems yet - though I've had the recognised makes Crucial and a Transcend fail recently. I get them from Aliexpress on the free shipping. The 128GB is HERE. 360GB is HERE.

Wow the 360GB works out about £50! Still imagine coming from abroad they could attract customs charges, which would make them much worse value. Not sure it's worth the risk for £8 but very good price admittedly...
Got a kingspec SSD for OS, program files and a couple games on my gaming pc, can’t fault it, nice and quick. Had it for about 18 months now
68.99 now.

Iv used a kingspec m.2 drive to boot my os from plus all my programs for the past 2 years and its been fine. Doesnt have all the fancy ssd tools/programs that the big name brands have that give you info about the state of the drive tho.

Did you have to pay customs

Did you have to pay customs

No. I've done hundreds of orders from China over the last ten years and only been caught once and it was still cheaper than from the UK. Select simple free shipping and keep the orders small. For these SSDs, don't order more than two at a time.
I like the way that these guys don't even try to copy a decent brand name. Best of luck to anyone silly / cheap enough to buy these.

What exactly is 'silly' about buying these?, if they fail you get a replacement or refund so no real danger as such, provided you backup, which is common sense on ANY drive.

The whole point of this site is to save money, which you will never do if you narrow your scope to big brands only....

Dispatched by Amazon so if there are any problems (unlikely looking at the reviews - verified purchases) you can simply get a refund from them. Just because your jealous you were too slow don't try and put others down.

An external drive for xbox needs to be a minimum of 256GB.

KingSpec have been around for quite a while.
Last time I looked they were using Toshiba chips.
I have a 180gb Kingspec. Works absolutely fine. Can’t see difference in speed between this, sandisc and Samsung drives in general use for games and OS. Some will swear by the fastest most expensive drives but if just general use this is fine (as far as I am concerned). If you love benchmarks and an extra half a second off load times you may not agree.

That's great, except:

1) They were still available when I wrote my post. I didn't miss out on anything, and I'm certainly not jealous of anyone who bought one of these drives.

2) There are no reviews of this product. Not one. You're being fooled into reading reviews of drives by the same company, all of which appear to be first-impressions only. The top positive review shown is someone being surprised that it works. You think that's a great sign?

3) What are you going to do about your data if the drive fails? Are you going to use Bitlocker with a secure (by 2018 standards...) password, and keep everything backed up constantly? If not, you're taking a lot of risk with this reject-grade drive.
