Considering it over 3600 but I can't justify adding + £140 cost to small performance gain. Hmm.

I'm in the same boat. A couple things; the 3600's cooler is supposedly poor so most likely need to replace. Secondly, I'm getting it for gaming and with next gen consoles having 8 cores, I'm thinking it'd be better to get an 8 core cpu. Also, the difference is about £120 from what i can see.

Personally, I don't want to repeat the last mistake of getting an i5 4670k over an i7 4770k. Although i did upgrade to an i7 4790k couple years later. But for a 5/6 year build I'm thinking 3700x would last.
