Think i would rather have a Frenchy too

Forget above. Thanks

Just so you know, it's "A lot", not "Allot".:)

Whats manual air conditioning- Windows??

It's AC, but you just choose a temp on a variable cold/warm scale; compared with Climate Control, which is AC where you can set a specific target temp (in degrees).

Ugly car, and like Mr. Wilson says "its a skoda" & "it has a Skoda Badge".

Do you derive your self worth from what people think of the badge on your car? You poor thing.

i think i would rather spend my £9690 on a couple of year old 3 series TBH

Which generally offer excellent value, which is quite handy considering this is a website devoted to those who enjoy spending their money wisely

its not vw with different badge. I wish morons would stop saying that. They only share some parts. Alot of parts are different eg switchgear

lol 9700 on a 2 year old 3 series..where?

Oh dear thinks Skoda has no street cred. Yet supports SWFC, just outside relegation zone!
At least Skoda make reliable motors, too many badge snobs on here.
Anthonywilson I suggest you look at cost of spares and service on your 3 year old banger to the warranty on a new car.No contest.

If Skodas are such wonderful cars that practically sell themselves based upon, quality, reliability etc etc why do they have to heavily discount them?

According to What Car you could pick up an 07 plate 3 series coupe for around that much- they comment "Very expensive to buy used". I guess if you want a 6 year old car instead of a new car with warranty, it's a fair comparison O_o

I imagine it's a CAT C with a trillion miles on the clock.

What? You mean like say... Aston Martin?

As I posted before we have got a Fabia as the wifes run around car. Its "alright", it was right price and dealer is convenient which was the real winner.

Some of the engines are the same as previous gen Polo but the interior is different and its rides different too. Over all its not a lively, fun drive like a Swift and its not particular high quality but its fine for what it needs to be. It had a problem with the central locking a few days after got it and that was sorted. Also the A/C failed and was replaced in a fair time and we got a replacement from the point it was taken in and diagnosed as broken until it was fixed, about 4 days which was good.

Its truly out of date at the moment and I suspect it will get a replacement any time now.

As a fleet manager I would probably not recommend it but sometimes the shoes fits so it works with your life "beyond" the car.

Shame its a Skoda. Yes yes, they've improved since the 80's, but its still a VW which isn't exactly a luxury brand, and built to a budget - even more so than Seat. Just like there were probably some nice Adolfs in the world, would you call your kid Adolf?

I guarantee if skoda changed its name to something else, their sales would improve.

Got a 08 fabia and I'm 17, its a decent car and if it had a BMW badge on it everyone would buzz off it.

3-spoke leather steering wheel
Chrome package
Floor mats - the base models doesnt come with mats - WTF!!!!!!
16" Comet alloys – Black - £800 for alloys
Black door mirrors - a bit of black paint is extra!?
Black grille and headlights - a bit of black paint is extra!?
Black roof - a bit of black paint is extra!?
Rear spoiler
Sunset glass
Front fog lights - wtf
Manual air conditioning

are cars these days really that badly specced that the above equates to extras, lol, AND near £4000 for that little lot, more like £1500 - are they having a laugh!!?

I wish this was the case. Bt I found out different. I had to reject my skoda. The dealership treated me appallingly

A lot of car for the money, certainly.

The engine is decent, but not overly powerful. Similar to the Ibiza Toca deal.

I've voted hot because if this is your budget for a new car, you cant get much better.

But like a lot of things, if you can stretch a bit further, you can pick up more car.

fair enough with most of this extra stuff but I'd be paying to take chrome bits OFF, not paying to have it added on!! oO

I still don't understand why they didn't just rebrand the company, fair enough most of us know its now good quality and is reliable now its made by VW, but even so, how many of us want a skoda badge?

A fuel cap for a Skoda?

Sounds like a good deal to me......................

(I'll get me coat).

I suppose that's why Skoda make SEATs for SEAT?

The Fabia is being replaced with a new model next year - which is why they're doing run-out models like this.

This is based on the VW Polo platform, which doesn't make it a VW, however, it will share an engine with a VW, and most of the parts inside it will be VW. Saying that, I don't think VWs are anything special, the last one I had cost me about £1000 a month out of warranty, but for someone wanting a nicely specced basic car, this is a good price, for what will be a reliable and solid car, who cares about the badge?

Good deal, have some heat

Re the: 'But its a Skoda' type comments.

If a badge is the issue then why don't we all have motors made by Ferrari etc cause clearly having a car with a certain badge makes your manhood massive!

Personally i would buy something based on a combination of prive/realiability/resale-value/what i need it for etc and if the car i decided met most of my factors had a Skoda badge any other i would buy it.

Cannot understand the badge mentality. Its like those who would never go into one of the dicount supermarkets as they assume its rubbish.

people who moan about 10K Skoda, can you even afford one?

Uuugh it has a skoda badge

I'd rather pay an extra few grand for this:
