£3.99 Tevion Sport / Gym Headphones @ Aldi

Found 3rd Jan 2013
I couldn’t believe this when I saw them stacked on the shelves at the Weston Favell Aldi – Sennheiser PMX80 headphones for £4! I have used these at the gym for the last 3 years and love them.

Sweat-proof and guaranteed to stay on your head and in your ears when running.

Sounds quality is OK, good enough for the gym but not Hi-Fi quality as you expect from small drivers.

Now, here’s the deal - these aren’t in a Sennheiser box but as you can see from the pics below they are almost exactly the same as the Sennheisers with the only difference being a colour change to one piece of plastic. More importantly they sound the same too (actually they are a little ‘tight’ but I guess they just need a few hours of running in – my old ones have done hundreds of hours).

Happy hunting!

Worth a try at this price. So frustrating when earphones constantly fall out when running. Thanks op.

thanks

Well spotted that man the Senns got 4G's on the Gadget show and something from What hifi. I am no brand snob and will have a look.

Thanks mate, I'm big Aldi fan and now that you've explained these are half decent I'll pick them up for my next run on the Zombie Run app.

can i buy online ?

What proof do you have that these are "rebadged"? By that I assume you mean the components are exactly the same inside? Bear in mind that Aldi makes a living by ripping off designs and packaging from major brands and selling inferior versions. I'm just sceptical - why will these be any different?

No, well not unless some ebayer picks up a load and reoffers them via ebay

You can get things in Aldi that look almost indistinguishable from; Penguin biscuits, Pimms, Fairy Liquid etc etc. None of them are a patch on the real thing.

Misleading listing, false advertising. These are NOT Sennheiser and therefore should not be described as such. You THINK they are rebadged Sennheisers, and you may indeed be correct but that's not the product that's for sale from Aldi.

Listing should be removed or title changed.

ouch this is not sennheiser i guess sennheiser should take Aldi to court design infringement

Hopefully they've made a better job of the copies then. I had the Sennheiser ones and wasn't impressed. When you clench your jaw, it muffles the sound. They're also well known for losing sound in the left ear. This happened to my pair. Maybe worth a shot at this price though.

There cheap nasty headphones not sennheisers at all

Listing reported and expired.

Have a listen you will soon hear the difference! if they are fake they will sound crap if re-bagged like it's claimed then the sound will be good.

i guess some people going to Aldi to get fake item :))))

They look the same and sound the same. I have claimed they are re badged because they are the same but with a different badge on.

There are a 4 year old model and Sennheiser must have sold the old design. Happens all the time.

Expire if you like, I'm not fussed.

If these are rebadged sennheisers, I will run down the street with a pair hanging out my back passage

Bloody hell there are some drama llamas on here, if you don't like jog on, no need to get pissy. Thanks OP, I will pop in and grab a few, I go through them like billy-o.

I'm afraid there's every reason to when the OP posts a deal claiming a product is something it's not.

Clam down people there for running in, the nearest copy to these are about £10 for £3.99 they are a bargain sennheisers or not. They don't fall out and so long as you can hear the music what's the prob?

The design on these are great for staying in your ears while running. The Sennheisers I used to have in this style weren't great for sound or durability but I'd definitely go for some of these for £4. Cheers.

If the sound quality is crap and the dynamic range awful then they are as good as the ones from poundland (rebadged Denon's by the way)

i guess people missing the point title was sennheiser before not that tevion brand

Rebadged or not I'm grabbing a pair purely on the basis they might stay on my head while on the tread mill. I don't spend more then a fiver, because any headphones I've brought seem to get ruined by sweat eventually, including ones that came with my iPhone. I don't care about sound quality for these.

Nice post, thanks

EXACTLY! No matter what brand I have gone for the shelf life seems to be no more than 3 months at best, lots of usage, sweat, in / out of bag. Its silly to pay big money for a brand to get super-dooper crisp sound because those £90 earphones last the same amount of time as the £3.99 ones, been there, done, huge scam IMHO. As long as they stay in, sound loud and dont look ridiculous then its a win.

Rip off or not, I'll be using them for running so sound quality is hardly a key point.

3.99 for a high street running headphone is great. Heat added

I think you're kidding yourself with the fat free yogurt!

think i'll bag a pair if i spot them when next in aldi, cheers OP - wanted some jogging ones that stay in without constantly needing to adjust.

rest of you should just calm down, have a cup of tea or something.

Similar ones available on eBay for almost half the price and in a range of different colours

I bought some of these before Xmas. They were in the bargain bin for £1.79 - I'm guessing because there was a hole in the packaging, making them look a bit tatty. The sound and build quality is excellent.I wear them most days when taking my dogs for a walk. Comparing these to something from Poundland is harsh! I have a similarly styled pair of Sony sports headphones, and the sound quality is just as good.

Hot from me

I picked some up and the cashier said they were £1.99....checking receipt...
