Remember when everything in there was £1, those were the days haha

Those visits to the first Poundlands.

"How much is this?", "That's £1".
"How much is that?", "A pound".
"What about this one?", "It's a pound, it's all a pound".
"What the whole shelf?", "The whole shop".
"Even this?", "Yes".
"And that?", "Yes".
"And th..", "You're barred. You're all barred!".

We used to make our own fun. This generation of teenagers just can't enjoy the simple things. Now a days it would be..

"How much is this?", "That's a pound".
"How much is that?", "£2".
"Huh? And.. this?", "£5".
"And that?", "37p".
"That's not a pound?!", "It's 3 for a pound".
"This is no fun. I'm barred!!!"

Heat added for the deal.

Bargain for War of the Apes

Definitely the best film there! I see the odd comment saying War for the Planet of the Apes is good but it doesn't seem to get enough love; the whole trilogy is brilliant.
Remember when everything in there was £1, those were the days haha
Also picked up the Magnificent 7 remake (BR/Dvd)

Yup a 100% price increase over night, at £1 They where bargains at £2 not so much.
£2 for a blu ray is still a bargain in my opinion. I generally look for the 3d ones and the ones with a digital copy. I bought Don't Breathe the other day in one of my locals but they have a fairly decent selection. Wish they had the Martian, would've snapped it up quick.

3D Blu-ray bargain. Heat. Love 3D. Shame it is on life-support.

Yes, now often more expensive than CEX second hand.
Assassins Creed is great I think esp in 3D and the music is great also. I think it got panned by the critics and gamers (of course) but it's great IMO.
Also at my local
Into darkness 3D
Prometheus 3D (with a whole disk of extras)

I didn't enjoy AC. It had such amazing potential to be a great film and I just found it to be boring. From what I remember - not a lot happens, it's all very broody. It took too long to get to the main plot and the action and parkour was a bit stale.

Sorry to disagree with you. I just thought I'd throw my tuppence in for balance, in case anyone is reading with the intent of trying it.

Ok. YMMV.
But for £2 it's worth trying, I think. Sell it to CEX for a pittace if you don't
I liked the brooding soundtrack particularly in surround

I'll be honest, I didn't much notice the soundtrack. Maybe this is a good thing because it didn't stand out as bad so can sometimes be better to go unnoticed. Nowadays I'm more aware and pay more attention to the soundtrack of films.

To be fair, I'd maybe watch it again if it ever came to a streaming service. It wasn't awful, it was a 6/10, it was just disappointing based on it's potential.

Typical just picked it up for £3.99 from Amazon

To me, the musical soundtrack is often an integral part of the film (as It was here)
A full orchestral score with prominent drums and percussion (on a Spanish theme)
That's how I heard it anyway. Maybe some references to the game which I haven't played
Just based on the end credits, thousands (literally) of people worked on the film.
I've never seen such long credits!

You're right about that. I watched Joker last weekend and that soundtrack is phenomenal.

Funny about the credits

Yes, fortunately i've got it on two TVs (and players of course) I would like to upgrade to a 66", are there any? you really seem to notice the size more with 3D, it's like looking through a distant window.

I'm sure it arrived the next day using Prime, also not all Poundland's have the same title's so still a decent purchase imo.

I've switched to a projector for 3D projector for big screen viewing (around 90") - and I can honestly say that at that size 3D is superior to 4K for me at least. Nothing wrong with the 3D format, they just need to keep the releases coming.

Intersting, thanks, yes I've thought of that but to get good enough contast do you need to darken the room? You must use a screen? There are some quite cheap ones and then a big gap to the some expensive ones

Yeah ideally you need a room that has curtains to darken the room a fair bit - but it doesn't have to be pitch black. You need a screen unless you have a big area of blank wall to project against.
Great finds. Just picked up The Martian 3D, Assassins Creed 3D, Brave 3D, Hercules 3D and Exodus 3D. Great for the collection and will use a couple as Christmas gifts. Long livve the 3D
Some of the packs also include a free Google Film download
Every time I was near a poundland I would drop in to check out the £1 Blu-rays to see if anything was worth picking up, managed to drab a few bargins.
Now for £2, I don't even bother unless I'm already going in for something, haven't bought any yet as the £2 selection is just not worth it.
Also keep in mind all of it is from MusicMagpie from what I understand and most the £2 films are in the 2 for £3 on MusicMagpies site for the most part (or 4 for £8)

Plenty of decent new blu-rays for £2 imo
Gloucester Poundland havnt had any of the latest titles for a couple of weeks (as far as I can see). Think they are still going though the stock they had about a month ago so havnt seen the Martian (did find a 2nd hand copy in CEX) and Assassins Creed yet. There was some blu rays for £1 in a new One below store a couple of weeks ago but they dont seem to have re-stocked recently either. Recently found some cheap second hand Blu Rays or DVDs (some with valid UV/Google Play codes) at places like Cash Converters, CEX and some Charity Shops.
