Could someone add the link, it wouldn't add from my phone...thank you
Extra present? Lucky girl!
For an extra £20(ish) you can buy a New 3DS - a much better long-term investment. Sound advice.

Yes the 2nd generation 3DS XL, other than improved controls, amiibo support has one really good feature worth a few quid alone, improved battery chemistry, meaning it holds a charge for much longer.

For arguments sakes, say you were right (which your not) and it was even £50 more to upgrade to the new model, thats still totally worth it, given the superior technology you get for that price difference.

Does anyone have a link for a New 3DS XL for £120 right now? One where I spend £120 and get one with warranty and don't have to mess around with cashback/points?

Its becoming tedious seeing people coming in and slate these original 3DS XL deals. The Amazon deal for an original 3DS XL and two Mario games for £99 was unreal. Yet people say spend more and get the new one. Why? Let's value the Mario games at £25 for both. That made the console £75. That's half the price of a New 3DS XL at the going rate of £150 (still less than its RRP)

Is it really worth spending double your money for improved 3D, better loading times, a few more buttons, and just two exclusives? I don't think so.

I own a New 3DS XL and shifted my original 3DS XL after. I got a pretty good price for my original as it was a Collector's Edition unit so didn't have to pay any extra but definitely would not have sold it for half the price of the New 3DS XL. The upgrades aren't worth the price difference if you already have an original model... Or are looking for the best deal as this is... well... a money saving website...

These deals are really good and shouldn't be discredited by trolls threadspoiling with "it's old tech" etc

While some are just trolls, some are also actually correct, the new 3ds can be a huge improvement for alot of ppl and theres also alot of confusion between the old and new version.
Its what happens on here, if u can get improved technology, even if its for little bit more cash then ppl will mention it, it never hurts the consumer to be told about more options.

Also IMO the new 3ds xl is a huge leap, i can play 3d for hours now without getting a headache, the little c-stick nub is a god send when playing Majora's Mask and Monster Hunter 4, longer battery life and amiibo support is also a big drawing point to many.

To some it might be worth spending double your money and to others it can worth waiting for the right moment, at the time 2 weeks back in Rakuten i got the new 3ds xl for £125, with £22.50 worth of points to buy anything. To me this was totally worth it, think £130ish is the best price around atm but thats with using a discount code.

OMG!! This is so tempting!! I don't even need one. But, I've got £40 (£80 with boost) of Vouchers and need to use them by the end of the month! 3DS XL for £20?!? I can't go wrong!! Wanted to get an iPad Mini 4. But, it's £60 more than buying direct from Apple (or John Lewis with 3 year warranty!)) What to do?!?!?

It's not a "little bit more" though is it?
The originals 3DS XL's have been £85 on Amazon or £99 with 2 decent games.
It's a lot more when you consider the RRP and/or lack of frequent deals on the New 3DS XL.

Don't get me wrong I'm all for people clarifying the differences, however, these deals shouldn't be slated because there is an improved model on the market.

P.S. there are no reports to suggest the New 3DS XL has improved battery life. A brand new console may show better battery life compared to a used console, however, as far as I am aware both use the same batteries.

That's exactly why I got mine! I also got my MacBook Air from John Lewis because of the guarantee
Thanks
