Picked this up earlier- the limited edition 3DSXL with FIre Emblem, and three more games (download code only) for 219.99. It was deal number 4 in their choice for 4.

All 8 of the free games in the Nintendo promotion are included- so in total, a new 3DSXL LE console- plus 5 games for £219.99.

I would be quick though- even though it was an advertised bundle, it would not go trough the till at less than £259- so either a till issue, or could be a mistake! The manager said something about an email from head office about the bundle- so that could have meant either!

Too good to pass up, and definitely less than you could by these all separately for.

This is gonna get hotttt

For information, I got the Fire Emblem Blue 3DSXL, Castlevania, Monster Hunter and Luigis Mansion 2.

Another 24 hours to allow my 3DS to register itself before putting in my codes on the club Nintendo website, and ill man myself either Animal Crossing or Donkey Kong Returns 3D!

hot, can not moan at that, though I expect someone will

Hot! Might want to consider getting yourself a 32GB Micro SD card for all those downloads.

Original Poster

I did but myself a 16GB card at the same time- but not part of the bundle! That, with a charger, was an extra £25 but they could be bought elsewhere cheaper.

That's not too bad for both, especially if bought from GAME

Wouldn't you need to buy physical copies of the game to get the club nintendo codes to enable to get you the 5th Nintendo game free?

Original Poster

Nope- providing your 3ds is linked to your club Nintendo account, the code redeemed registers them to your star catalogue as normal- you just go on the club Nintendo website and do the survey for each as normal - see nintendo.co.uk/Mis…tml

Original Poster

Nope, digital games 100% count. I've posted a link to Nintendos website confirming this, but has been passed for moderation.

Google search "so many games FAQ" and the link will show that downloads count.

The only reason it wouldn't work is if you haven't got a club Nintendo account (just make one with the code in the box) and if you haven't linked the 3ds to the club Nintendo account.

Make sure you download the 3 titles after 24 hours of the 3ds being registered so they definitely register (states this in the FAQ) and you will be entitled to the free download of the fourth

You do realise its buy 3 games get the 4th free not buy 4 games get the 5th free, so with the fire emblem bundle you only needed to get 2 more games as the fire emblem in the bundle counts towards the 3 games.

Original Poster

Yes I do- but from the initial purchase from GAME you get 4 games- FE/MH, then 3 more download codes. Then you get a fifth from Nintendo.

That's why the deal is so good... 5 games and the console for £219.99!

Original Poster

Amended the title to make it clearer.

super deal, wish was online, ill be trying my local Game tomorrow I think

Deal is only for 2 extra games which is why it was only going through at 260 as they sell those codes for 40 each

Original Poster

The promotional material on the shelves did clearly state that it was 3 extra games- but as I said, they mentioned something about an email from head office so that might be it!

It is a clever marketing trick: Yes, they do "give" you 3 extra games, because once you link the MH/FE and your two other games to your club nintendo account, you get another one free! So you leave GAME with 3 games and once you're up and running you get another: you are saving £20 doing this deal vs buying them solo (as all the download games are £40) and so if you try 3 extra games instead of 2 the deal does not work.

Think I'll be having a look at the deals in GAME tomorrow, might finally be time to pick up a 3DS to go with the Vita.

Not online?

How would this work if I want to upgrade from a 3DS to one of these 3DS bundles and I already have downloaded content to my current 3DS? Have a feeling that there'll be no problems but guess I'd just like to check before deciding on whether to take the plunge.

great thinking by somebody in game as they know you will buy a plug and a sd card as the games will take up much of the space.thats probably how they get there money

No.

I left Game with 4 games. FE included in the console box, Luigis mansion 2, Castlevania and Monster Hunter all on D/l codes.

I will now register these, and get a fifth game from Nintendo. The Game staff didn't even know there was a promotion from Nintendo, and that the games on offer in the deal were the 8 in the Nintendo offer until I told them.

You should be fine. I have transferred content between a standard 3DS and a XL. The main things that you will need is both 3DS to be updated to the current firmware and have more than 50% battery life. If you get a bundle with pre-installed software on it i.e Fire Emblem in the limited edition Blue version. Do not worry as when you transfer only duplicates will be overwritten, any thing new like pre-installed software will remain.

On topic though, this is a good deal. Heated. I got the Blue limited edition on release. Oh well. Fire Emblem more than made up for it. Plus I got the other games for cheap so no harm done, I guess. Though wouldn't you get like £10 if you have a rewards card from this deal? So you could do this deal and then buy the charger/sd card with the points you got? It is just a thought on saving some cash. X)

Great deal !!! I take it they give you the code so you can download it at home ?

Is this a good deal? yes, the prices are good but once you complete the games etc you wouldn't be able to sell the games. I'd prefer to pay slightly more through flubit etc and get physical copies.

Original Poster

£5.00 in reward points if I recall correctly.

Not for me but an excellent deal I'd say.

I assume this is in-store only?

Right so I guess it was a mistake then: I was in Game (Livingston) when someone was buying the deal and it came up at £259.99: when they explained the deal (like I did above: plus the savings) they removed one game from the till's list and the deal went through correctly: they explained that if they wanted to return the console (unopened) then they would only get £140 (vs the £160) back for the console because they remove the amount saved in the deal (because they can't return the codes for a refund) and you would end up getting more back on your refund than what you paid for the items (in accordance with GAME's prices)

It sound's kind of confusing the way I said it but rather than trying to solve the issue correctly for you, they just went ahead brute forced it and gave you the extra game: so a mistake on their part.

The Nintendo "So Many Games" deal is register 3 games and get a 4th free and the advertising on the board in my store reflect that, so I don't think they would give you an extra game on purpose because that's not the deal.

seems awesome! anyone know if the ambassador downloads will transfer from original to xl if I upgrade?

I can't seem to see this online; is it store only or you need to do special code online?

Can someone explain again. So you get the 3ds fire emblem bundle? Or the normal 3ds xl with the FE game. And then which games do you get as downloads? Or do you get a choice?

Yes its a bundle with the game pre installed on the 3DS, The MH one is Black (no design) the FE one is Blue and has some sort of logo on the front there are 8 games:

Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate (Nintendo 3DS Version)
Castlevania: Lords of Shadow – Mirror of Fate
Luigi's Mansion 2
Fire Emblem: Awakening
Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity
Animal Crossing: New Leaf (released 14th June 2013)
LEGO CITY Undercover: The Chase Begins
Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D

If you're interested in Animal Crossing, I would choose that as your Free Game from Nintendo (you may get the code early and GAME won't have it yet anyway)

Surely it might be a GOOD idea to make that clear on the description then? Maybe list which store you got it in aswell to help avoid anymore confusion

It will only transfer the account for the ambassador games. So you have to re-download them from the eshop. I think the best thing to do is backup your content first via USB and then transfer. Once you have done that copy the contents back onto the SD card for the XL and the save data should still be there. I only transferred them from 3DS to XL and lost the saved data.
Edited by: "Jabs" 28th May 2013

Bear in mind 3DS downloads are tied to the console itself and not an account, so if you lose, sell, etc your 3DS you lose your games.

Am I right in assuming that you buy either the fire emblem or monster hunter bundle then get a choice of 2 digital downloads out of eight games. If this is correct would it not be cheaper to just buy the console bundle then go to argos and get the 2 for £55 games which would work out at £214.99 plus a £5 voucher (offer finishes today).

Do a system transfer to the new console before you do any digital downloads then all your old stuff will be merged with the new stuff...did it myself with my old ambassador 3ds onto my new xl.

Cheers!

Still on the fence with this one though - It's a decent but not crazy saving and the fact that they're all digital downloads is holding me back from taking that plunge. Also, not that crazy on the Fire Emblem design (which also doesn't seem that limited enough to buy as an investment) nor the all black XL. UK-wise, the Pikachu version is probably what I'll take the plunge for after E3. The Year of Luigi version would be a great pick if it ever launches in Europe.
