This deal is on Philips Hue LightStrip Plus 2m

Depends on what you want/need. If 4m is sufficient then Currys have 2 packs on for £100 when you use the code HUE40

But if you need more than 5M then this might work out better than getting the 1m connector kit.

Argos have an offer on selected Philips Hue Range (LightStrip, Table Lamp, Bloom & Go) Buy 3 for price of 2. No code needed.

So it's quite a niche deal. Could work out well for those that also have Argos vouchers from previous purchase or can get discounted gift cards.

To be honest the picture makes it look nasty and way worse than it actually is.

Can someone confirm these can be cut to requirements but the cut end is then useless?

Good question and I'd like to know the same. Presumably you can make use of it with connectors

Unless you're handy with a soldering iron.
That such a poor design choice by Philips.

If anyone has any cut ends they can’t use I’d like a couple of short bits please. I’m happy to solder the wires.
Whats the difference between this and the cheap Chinese kits?

wow that's quite intense. Where's best deal on them please?
U can regularly get 2m with a 1m extension for about 45-50, would expect it on prime day likely too so you would be able to get it for about 100. Yea I know it's not available now but it's been on offer so many times over the year can't vote this hot at all.
Whilst you can add 1m extension strips onto the original 2m lengths (up to a total of 8 additional metres) you can’t add the 2m lengths together as the cable back to the power pack is hardwired. So unless you want to cut and solder then this isn’t possible.

They look good, and it also helps to reduce eyestrain.

How on earth is it reducing eye strain??! It’s an eye sore!!

Phillips Ambilight (which syncs with the picture on screen and changes colour accordingly) is really great. Not convinced about adding static lights but the ones that sync with the TV definitely add to the experience.

Give us a bit more info I bought these for £12.99, they're not compatible with my Hue bridge, but work great with Alexa (colour changing, routines, etc). What are these you've bought, and how much were they bud?

So because you dont like them, no one else should have them?

Righty ho.
Litecessory have a range of pins you can use that allow cut ends to be reused. It's a bit fiddly but requires no soldering.

Completely agree with the eye strain... I suffered from squinty eyes, put it on a nice warm.white color and the eyestrain is gone..

The zigbee network it runs on requires the devices to use far less energy than wifi, not really a problem for a couple of units but when you have 50+ lamps like me its probably adds up to a lot more energy

The amount of control you can and app integration hue gives you is just first rate. I have routines setup so a staged series of lights come on to match my alarm, i have events setup such as opening the front door activates a series of lights. In my office I have 12 colour lights that sync with my keyboard, PC and mouse RGB which can be set to cycle or match the game screen

@BuzzDuraband these are what I purchase, the bottom.ome is a 1m extension, I have 4 sided abilight on the 65inch TV with 2m extension. Make sure you purchase the YLD04YL model of yeelight strip as the other models are not extendable.

I use these with Alexa (Google compatible also) and have all lights in my room and plugs are up as "lounge" in the Alexa app.

I say "Alexa, goodnight" and my whole.living room switches off.

Cheers mate. I've currently got the ones linked above 3 sided on a 65". It's wall mounted and the 4 sided effect wasn't really for me, so I removed it.

Id honestly recommend the ones I linked if you're looking in future. From setup to feature, I've had nothing to complain about.

Is there any white on this?? I've had many cheaper versions of light strips before and the yeelight has blown them away due to the massive amount of lighting options you can choose,

Also a music mode for light sync with music and you can set it up to flash/notify you when you get a message or notification on phone.

Yeah, I use white as standard. It does have a movie / music mode, but I haven't tried it yet. The notification light is a no, though.

Kodi has an add-on that works with Hue to change the light colour. I use it in Theatre mode though, which means the lights slowly dim when playback is initiated. The lights slowly return to the pervious brightness when playback is paused or stopped.

That might be possible. I’ve never actually used these ones but just wanted to point out to anyone else thinking of getting them that won’t want to faff about getting extra bits to connect them etc rather than them buying not realising what they might have to do.
trashing my own deal but if you want to go super-budget then Lidl will have these 3m ones for £7.99 next weekend.
If you're going to by cheap tat online, may as well get it from local Lidl store so you can return if any issues.
