They seem to be pumping out these attractive exclusive quite regularly now but, if past performance is anything to be judged on, they do not change the prices after a few months - once you're on the deal, you stay on that deal for the foreseeable.
This seemed such a good deal for your medium user and its perfect for kids as it has a cap that you can set to prevent silly overspends!
it uses EE's 4G network
It allows tethering which is a big bonus

It's only 4 weeks... Don't lose any sleep over it.
Just get a 3 Payg SIM and a fiver topup.

Asking for help from members.

I have an elderly relative visting the Uk for four weeks. They use the odd text and voice calls mainly.

They'll not be needing any data at all.

Whats the cheapest sim I can get with many minutes, a few texts?

I hear what you are saying.

If for under ten pounds, I can get a massive number. of mins included, I would prefer that.

If anybody has suggestions for a 30 day rolling, with a high number of mins - i'd be most grateful.

(If the underlying network used by your suggestions are ee or bt, even better. Good signal is important - We live within the M25 ).

Thanks to anywilling to help,

Lib.

Seems like plusnet pumping out deals! But for £10 you can get 5gb data and 1500 mins i agree not everyone will want that! This is in between the £5 and £10 deals. For average users

If you have a landline with them you can now leave penalty free! Mobile deals unaffected hotukdeals.com/dea…392

Three's deal for unlimited texts and minutes and 4GB data for £9 oer month with £45 cashback making it £5.25 pm is better but only available for the next 3 days via topcashback. You can cap it an no overspend too, but its 12 month contract not 30 day.

Crap signal, no 2g and no tethering
My wife switched to Plusnet mobile, no issues and a great service so far. The porting process was very straight forward.

Might be better to ask Plusnet!
WHat happens at the end of the 30 days? does the contract price bump up?
Probably a silly question but perhaps someone can help. I currently have quite a bit of credit on my PAYG 3 sim. I want to port the number to one of the free 200mb data sims so i understand that i need a tesco or other sim to do an intermediate port to - but what happens to the credit on my original 3sim? Do i lose it?

You would likely have to pay for 2 months, as you have to give 30 days notice to leave

No it stays the same. It just means it is a 30 day contract in comparison to some contract deals that tie you in to a 12 month contract, meaning you are free to cancel and change to another provider with minimal notice. If you do not change provider then it will roll over to another 30 day contract at £8 (per month)
Im not overly impressed with the reception on Plusnet, i used to be on EE, then switched to plusnet, yeah they are supposed to use the same network, but when the reception is showing poor 4g coverage and it switches to 3g or whatever, the call is dropped , sometimes when you answer you cant hear anything so the connection quality isnt as good as EE. Its not my phone, i have a Note 4 and it was fine on EE, its the reception... my partner has a new motorola play G4 and she has the same issue.....
Good deal, however I wound't get too excited about it being 4G. Speeds on all the MVNO 4Gs are capped like 3G speeds ( 10-20 mbps) . So 4G here is just for name sake. I have see this happening with EE, Voda and 3 movo speeds.

Hi

There are some good deals on the Virgin Mobile website for 30 day rolling

They also use EE's coverage and to be honest my wife and I have had no problems since we joined about a year ago.

30 day rolling contract :
store.virginmedia.com/vir…tml

Be sure to check the coverage to see what the reception is gonna be like in your area first:
store.virginmedia.com/vir…tml
Does anyone know if this will work in a EE 4GEE mifi box as it uses the EE network?
Wish plusnet would have the offers EE and Virgin mobile have (free whatsapp and facebook messenger data and data rollover)

Ditto, just migrated from the £7.50 deal I took out in December, which was... 2GB, 1000mins and unltd texts, to this deal, and they gave me 1500 mins as well. So an extra 1GB of data and an extra 500 minutes for 50p a month more. That works for me Thanks OP for the pointer to the deal ! (_;)

123 PAYG sim from Three as others have suggested. Can't think of a better deal for a short time. 3p a minute calls, 2p a text.

Guess (you know the answer really!), ask a HUKD numpty (there's someone out there who'll give you the answer you want) - or ask 3?

Just did a quick speed test on my Plus Net 4G SIM - 25Mbps download and 8MBps upload. Admittedly not up to double speed EE standard, but I'm not paying for that service. But more than adequate for streaming, web browsing, emails etc etc. The same test with a 3G MVNO SIM, (dual SIM phone) results in 8Mbps down and 3Mbps up. So Plus Net are definitely not full speed bandwidth as you would get with an Direct to EE contract, but are in my case circa 3 x the speed of 3G ... so you pays your money, and gets what you pays for.

For me, and possibly for most, 3GB of "fast enough" 4G data with 1500 minutes and unlimited text for £8.00 on a 30 day rolling contract is a good deal.

Same here...was on the 1gb 250mins ultd text - £5...couldn't do it over live chat though and had to ring up to upgrade. They couldn't find this deal but offered the 3gb 1500mins ultd text for £8. A fantastic deal as my son smashed the 1gb over a couple of days this month.

Heat added...thanks!

I've just upgraded from the 2 GB/1000 mins/unlimited texts to the 3 GB/1500 mins/unlimited texts for £8 package too. If they don't add the extra 500 mins right away, just ask and mention that it's currently on uSwitch. Great deal and perfect timing as I've just hit 2 GB usage for the first time. Thanks OP!

Yes but mvno's 3g speeds are capped as well! Also you're forgetting the latency. 4g is like 20ms like normal broadband! 3g is useless sometimes feels really slow do a speed test and latency is like 100ms hence you are waiting around! Not everything is speed

Anyone who's hitting the 2 to 3gb limit then hotukdeals.com/dea…096

Might be better, just £2 more than this for 500 extra mins and another 2gig of data so check your needs out first

Don't delay taking up any of these Plus Net deals they are all time limited, the MSE 5GB/1500/Unltd one ends in ~11 days, so you have sometime to ponder but not too long.
Looks like a winner for me
Perfect timing as my 12 month BT Mobile SIMO plan ends in May
Just for those of us that are not knowledgeable on this area, can anybody that knows the following share their knowledge.

Can somebody please list the underlying network providers for each of these ID/Giffgaff/PlusNet etc.type of mobile operators. It will help us to understand which underlying network infrastructure we would be using should we go with them.
