has time just jumped to 1995?
What is this I don't even.
Wow. HD-DVD gets cold but blank VHS tapes warm things up.
Well I suppose if you need them you probably need them cheap so I'll vote hot based on that assumption.
It's all about the Betamax.

how much power would that thing swallow ! a back generator surely required
In case anyone is getting tempted by some vintage videotaping, they might find this useful too

i had a betamax but it was a lot more streamlined than that thing!
Have tried these and not impressed - poor quality with dropouts.
My kids call em them tapey funny things, you used to have in the olden days. Did we used to speak to our parents like that?
Old tech, try vcds, they are the future.
Ahhh I remember these..... kinda!:p

wow, takes me back a few years.
I remember it was like a revolution when the Ferguson Videostar Frontloader came out.

Same here.
my mum still uses VHS tapes (she's in her 70's).....

even though a few years ago I bought her and my dad a HDD DVD recorder with FreeView , no matter how many times I try , she still records on video.

I asked why once, and she said she wanted to keep the show.

I've explained to her, it only takes a few minutes to write it to a DVD and better quality, but she's sticking with the VHS tapes

Dad uses the HDD , but I still have to be the person to burn to the DVD, as they cant follow it, strange considering it takes more effort to record on the VHS

I remember my dad buying one of these in 1985 for £450. This had instant record! (a top feature at the time). He did struggle to carry it home.
Good deal LOL
I heard rumours that the PS4 is going to use these. Might as well stack up while they're cheap.
Ah the memories

when you want to make yourself a really good snuff tape its alot better watching back on a vhs its a bit more seedy
Can't imagine why anybody would buy these. I have dozens of them (used but can be recorded over), still watch them on a TV/Video in the guestroom. They are offered on Freeview (free obviously) and still can't be given away.
LOL! Heat added, but post that made my sides split!
what bout betamax!!!!!!!!!!!

We watched our wedding VHS the other day. Our toddler kept trying to eject the tape even he at 2 years old was baffled by it & wanted his DVD back on..oh I loved these back in the days I sat there every Thursday evening watching TOTP waiting to record it.
Call me a fanboy but Betamax rocked...and Toshiba had the best...

Happy days.
