Is that good? I thought it was normally around £3 for 3 litres of veg oil in Asda.

Hope your not suggesting people Evade HMRC excise duty lol

I used to run my Delica on 40p/litre cooking oil from lidl.
Now that cooking oil tracks diesel prices I run a Panda :(.
Good price if you car can take it.
What oil is it, I prefered the exhaust smell of sun flower, just like driving, being followed chip shop.
BTW you can legally use 1200 litres of straight veg oil a year tax free as long as you mix it with diesel.

Don't be tempted to put this in your tank unless you have a 1980's Merc. There is a lot more to using veg oil or bio diesel than most people know and it WILL end up costing you a ton of cash.

You sure about that kev? The way I was aware you had to apply to hmrc to produce biofuels and pay and duty owed.

Edit- stand corrected, wasn't aware of new law passed few years ago.

The single good thing Gordon Brown did was change the regs so private citizens could make their own "biodiesel" without hassle. You don't need to file forms to use up to 1200 litres a year. Mix with diesel (in the tank) and/or add a bit of solvent (white spirit at Tesco is 2 quid for 2 litres).

And it doesn't have to be an 80's Merc. I use it in a 1999 Citroen Turbo diesel. But yes, modern diesels with common rail electronic injection are a no-no.

And 3.30 for three litres is not the cheapest at the moment. Morrison's have 3 litres for 3.13.

Cos it ran fine on it.

Get max value by buying £50 total spend from next monday and get voucher for 5p per litre off fuel. Fill up at pump then use the oil later. Better yet if you look on cash back or voucher code sites there are often £10 off first ever home delivery order (min spend £50, delivery £5), so thats another net £5 in your pocket.

£3.13 at Asda too. Not really a deal - cold.

you can use it straight in the tank, mixed with a bit of diesel or whatever, the problem is the glycerine in the vegetable oil which will eventually nacker the car, so unless you have the machine to separate it out to make biodiesel don't see it as a long term saving

how about a 2000 model VW Lupo. Anyone know if I can use it in this?

I've run my Toyota Estima on it for the past 3 years and done in excess of 70,000 miles. Still runs perfectly.
